Busan Metropolitan City to Offer Free Duribal Service on April 20 for the 46th Day of Persons with Disabilities

Busan Metropolitan City, led by Mayor Park Heong-joon, announced that it will operate the special transportation service “Duribal” free of charge on April 20 to improve mobility convenience for persons with disabilities in celebration of the 46th Day of Persons with Disabilities, in cooperation with Busan Infrastructure Corporation.

Duribal, a special transportation service, currently operates 232 vehicles to guarantee mobility rights for transportation-vulnerable individuals who experience severe difficulties in movement.

This free service will be provided for one day on April 20, from 00:00 to 24:00 based on boarding time, for registered Duribal users with disabilities.

Registered users of Duribal operated by Busan Infrastructure Corporation can use the service free of charge. However, intercity wide-area services and voucher taxi services for persons with disabilities are excluded from the free service.

In addition, the city will support the commemorative event for the 46th Day of Persons with Disabilities held at the indoor gymnasium of Gangseo Sports Park by providing 20 Duribal vehicles and drivers (welfare managers).

Persons with disabilities who wish to use the free Duribal service can apply by calling the Duribal Integrated Call Center (☎1555-1114) or through the dedicated Duribal mobile application.

Approximately 790 free service rides were provided on the Day of Persons with Disabilities in 2025.

Meanwhile, since 2020, the city has been operating the special transportation service Duribal using lottery funds, having its excellent performance recognized every year, and is making efforts to secure additional lottery funds through the efficient operation of lottery-funded projects.

Hwang Hyun-cheol, Director General of the Transportation Innovation Bureau of Busan Metropolitan City, stated, “The free operation of Duribal for the 46th Day of Persons with Disabilities has been prepared to guarantee mobility rights for transportation-vulnerable individuals and to create an inclusive transportation environment,” adding, “We will continue striving to build a Busan where all citizens can move without discrimination, including for the 20th National Youth Para Games and the 9th Nationwide Simultaneous Local Elections.”
