Busan Metropolitan City to Host “2026 Boosruk Day: Boogi Run” Celebrating Boogi’s 5th Anniversary

Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) announced that it will hold the “2026 Boosruk Day: Boogi Run” tomorrow (April 11) at the outdoor plaza of Busan Cinema Center in Haeundae-gu to commemorate the 5th anniversary of the debut of its communication character, Boogi.

Boosruk Day is an event created to celebrate Boogi’s debut date, April 16, and its name is derived from “Boosreogi,” the nickname for Boogi’s fans.

This event is designed as a participatory program where Boogi and citizens come together, operated as a complex event combining experiences, performances, and a market centered on slow jogging and running programs.

The event will run from 12:00 to 16:00, and participants will receive commemorative items such as T-shirts, completion medals, plogging bags, and bottled water.

Main programs include the “Boogi Run,” where participants run with Boogi; the “Boogi Market,” featuring Boogi merchandise; experience programs such as tattoo stickers and pinwheel making; and a DJing party hosted by DJ Sepo.

The “Boogi Run” is organized into general running (5.7 km, 90 participants) and slow jogging (2 km, 230 participants), enabling participation without 부담 for beginners as well as family groups.

Participants will start from Busan Cinema Center and run along a course circling the Suyeonggang riverside and the APEC Naru Park area, enjoying urban running in the spring season.

In addition, reflecting the recent trend of “fun running,” a special experience program is prepared in which participants attach a kit containing shakerato ingredients to their body, shake it while running to mix it, and complete the shakerato at the finish line.

The DJing party will feature performances using familiar children’s songs such as “Freeze,” offering a program that can be enjoyed by people of all ages.

Pre-sale tickets were sold out early, demonstrating high interest, and for citizens who were unable to register in advance, on-site registration is available for up to 30 participants on a first-come, first-served basis for a fee.

Oh Mi-gyeong, spokesperson for Busan Metropolitan City, stated, “Boosruk Day, which commemorates the debut of Busan Metropolitan City’s communication character Boogi, is establishing itself as a representative content that citizens participate in and enjoy together,” adding, “The city will continue to expand citizen-participatory programs to develop Boosruk Day into a representative event of Busan.”
