World-Class Players Gather in Busan: RENAULT Busan Open Tennis Championships 2026 to Be Held

Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) announced that the RENAULT Busan Open Tennis Championships 2026 (hereinafter referred to as the Busan Open) will be held from April 12 to 19 at the Geumjeong Sports Park Tennis Stadium.

The Busan Open, which began as a domestic tournament in 1999 and expanded into an international event in 2003, marks its 22nd anniversary this year. It is classified as a Challenger 125 tournament, placing it among the highest-tier men’s Challenger tennis tournaments held in Korea.

The tournament is hosted by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) and the Korea Tennis Association, organized by the Busan Open Organizing Committee, and supported by Busan Metropolitan City.

Approximately 80 professional players from over 30 countries are expected to participate, competing for a total prize of USD 225,000 (approximately KRW 340 million). Qualifying matches will be open to the public free of charge without advance reservation, while tickets for the main draw can be purchased through the NOL Ticket website.

The tournament will run qualifying matches for men’s singles from April 12 to 13, followed by the main draw from April 14 to 19. A total of 67 matches will be played, including 52 singles matches (21 qualifying and 31 main draw) and 15 doubles matches (all main draw).

The highlight of the tournament, the singles and doubles finals, will take place on the final day, April 19, starting at 1:30 p.m.

In particular, the tournament is expected to draw significant attention with the participation of key Korean players, including national team members Kwon Soon-woo (ATP No. 338), Park Ui-sung (ATP No. 716), and Nam Ji-sung (ATP No. 760), who performed strongly in the Davis Cup in February, along with leading domestic players Shin Woo-bin (ATP No. 643) and Chung Yun-seong (ATP No. 749).

International players such as James Duckworth (ATP No. 86) and Bernard Tomic (ATP No. 189) are also set to compete, further elevating the level of play and excitement of the tournament.
