Sooyoungro Church and ChildFund Korea Hold Donation Ceremony for Busan Children’s Hospital Mayor Park Heong-joon: “Hope the Spirit of Sharing Spreads Throughout Busan”

Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) announced that it will hold a donation ceremony for Busan Children’s Hospital, jointly organized with Sooyoungro Church and ChildFund Korea, today (the 8th) at 2:20 p.m. in the City Hall Reception Room.

The ceremony will be attended by Mayor Park Heong-joon, Executive Pastor Lee Hyun-woo of Sooyoungro Church, and Cho Yoo-jin, Busan Regional Headquarters Director of ChildFund Korea, among others.

At the event, Sooyoungro Church and ChildFund Korea will deliver a total donation of KRW 150 million. The ceremony is being held as part of public-private cooperation efforts to improve the medical environment for children and address gaps in pediatric care by bringing the local community together amid global challenges such as economic instability.

The donated KRW 150 million was raised as a “Good Deed Offering” collected by members of Sooyoungro Church to practice the values of love and service, adding further significance to the contribution.

The donation will be used for expanding medical equipment at Busan Children’s Hospital, scheduled to open in 2028, as well as for covering treatment costs for pediatric and adolescent patients from vulnerable groups.

Mayor Park Heong-joon is expected to state, “I would like to express my deep respect and gratitude to the members of Sooyoungro Church who have gathered this meaningful ‘Good Deed Offering’ for the happy growth of our children,” adding, “We will make this precious contribution, delivered during difficult times, a valuable resource to safeguard the health of our children.”

He is also expected to add, “With continued interest and cooperation from the local community, Busan’s future will become even brighter, and I hope that this meaningful spirit of sharing will spread throughout the entire city.”
