Recruitment for the 2026 Busan Youth “Work Happiness Card” Participants: Now Usable at Restaurants and Cafés

Busan Metropolitan City, led by Mayor Park Heong-joon, announced that it will recruit young participants for the “2026 Busan Youth Work Happiness Card Support Program” from April 6 to April 24.

This program has been implemented since 2020 to encourage work motivation among young employees working at SMEs in Busan and to support their stable settlement in the early stages of employment.

The program provides KRW 1 million in welfare points per person to young people aged 18–39 who are registered residents of Busan and have been employed at an SME in Busan for at least three months, with a total of 2,000 participants to be selected.

Eligible applicants include those born between January 1, 1986 and December 31, 2008, who are early-career employees that joined an SME in Busan between January 1, 2024 and January 2, 2026.

Applicants must have a monthly income of KRW 3.847 million or less (150% of the median income). The average monthly health insurance premium (excluding long-term care insurance for the elderly) for the three-month period from January to March 2026 must not exceed KRW 138,780.

Following a screening process, Busan Metropolitan City plans to select 2,000 recipients in May. Selected participants will receive a total of KRW 1 million in welfare points, distributed in two installments of KRW 500,000 each, after completing prior training on usage.

The first installment of KRW 500,000 will be provided in June, and the second installment of KRW 500,000 will be issued in September after confirming continued employment.

Starting this year, the timing for the second installment has been advanced from October to September to extend the usage period (September to November). In addition, the scope of use has been expanded to include daily life support such as restaurants and cafés, allowing users to conveniently utilize the card both online and offline across four categories: cultural leisure, self-development, health care, and daily life support.

Young people interested in this program may apply online through the Busan Youth Work Happiness Card website (부산기쁨카드.kr) from 10:00 on April 6 to 18:00 on April 24.
