Busan Metropolitan City Selects 11 Busan Companies for the Second Cohort of the 2026 Jump-Up Program

Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) announced that it has achieved the outcome of having 11 small and medium-sized enterprises headquartered in Busan finally selected for the Ministry of SMEs and Startups’ 2026 Jump-Up Program.

The Jump-Up Program is a project that supports SMEs with more than seven years of business experience and strong growth potential and technological capabilities, helping them secure new growth drivers through entry into new business areas and markets and advance into mid-sized enterprises. Each year, 100 companies are selected, with a total of 500 companies to be fostered by 2029.

○ It is a scale-up program that provides intensive support across the entire business cycle over three years, from establishing strategies for entering new business areas to commercialization, investment attraction, and global expansion.
○ This year, the support system has been strengthened by reflecting feedback from first-cohort participants, while global expansion support has been expanded and the public-private cooperation system has been supplemented.

A total of 531 companies nationwide applied for the program, and after approximately two months of comprehensive evaluation of growth potential, profitability, and innovation, 100 companies with high growth potential were selected.

○ Among them, 11 Busan-based companies were included, demonstrating the competitiveness and growth potential of local enterprises.

The Busan-based companies selected this time are Gwangseong Instrument, Good Trust, Dasco, Daehong Electric, Deliverd Korea, Control Valve, Seonbo SB, Dongyang Metal Industry, Samyoung MT, Sejin Valve Industry, and Turbo Power Tech.

○ Following the selection of 14 Busan companies in the first cohort last year, the addition of 11 companies this year further establishes Busan as a region producing promising scale-up enterprises.

Busan Metropolitan City has been continuously promoting a “growth ladder” policy to identify high-growth potential SMEs and foster them into globally competitive companies through tailored support at each stage. These systematic support efforts have led to the selection of local companies.

○ In particular, Dasco and Turbo Power Tech are regional innovation-leading companies jointly selected by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and Busan Metropolitan City, and they have strengthened their technological capabilities and commercialization capacity through programs such as the Global Hidden Champion development project and the regional growth ladder support project.
○ Seonbo SB was also selected for the 2025 anchor company development project and has accumulated capabilities in technology development and commercialization.

Park Dong-seok, Director General of the Advanced Industry Bureau of Busan Metropolitan City, stated, “This achievement is the result of Busan Metropolitan City’s systematic corporate growth support policies and on-site, close-contact support,” adding, “We will continue to do our utmost to accelerate the scale-up of promising local SMEs and support their growth into globally competitive mid-sized enterprises.”
