Busan Metropolitan City Expands “Agricultural Machinery Rental Program” to Reduce Farmers’ Workload

Busan Metropolitan City Agricultural Technology Center (hereinafter referred to as the Center) announced that it has expanded the introduction of rental agricultural machinery to improve farming convenience and reduce labor burdens for farmers.

The Center has been continuously promoting the agricultural machinery rental program since 2017, reflecting demand from agricultural sites. Last year (2025), it purchased 21 units across 14 types, including tractors, and is currently operating them for rental. This year (2026), an additional 24 units across 11 types will be purchased, and after subscribing to comprehensive agricultural machinery insurance, a total of 87 units across 34 types will be available for rental starting in April.

This expansion of agricultural machinery focuses on securing an appropriate number of models with high demand in the field. In particular, as farm work during peak seasons involves repetitive tasks and high labor intensity, the equipment introduced prioritizes improving work efficiency and ensuring safety.

The newly introduced rental machinery is designed to reduce physical strain on farmers and improve work efficiency. Riding mowers, which allow operators to sit and control the equipment directly, are expected to be highly useful in agricultural fields as they can quickly and efficiently remove weeds over large areas such as orchards and fields.

Mid-size tractors equipped with stone collectors can gather stones from the soil, helping promote root development of crops and contributing to improved agricultural productivity.

In addition, wide-width rotavators are expected to enhance work speed and significantly improve the efficiency of soil preparation by evenly crushing soil in fields and paddies.
