Busan Metropolitan City Signs MOU with Dong-A University to Strengthen Practical Cybersecurity Training Cooperation

Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) announced that it signed a memorandum of understanding with Dong-A University yesterday (23) to establish a close cooperative framework for promoting practical cybersecurity training.

This agreement was prepared to build a mutual cooperation system for advancing “practical cybersecurity training” following the establishment of Dong-A University’s Cybersecurity Training Center. The Cybersecurity Training Center at Dong-A University was established on July 1, 2025, and is currently developing systems and education and training programs, with an official opening scheduled for the first half of 2026.

Through this agreement, the city plans to actively cooperate by dispatching cybersecurity trainees from the city and its affiliated public institutions to the Cybersecurity Training Center at Dong-A University.

Both institutions will jointly develop training scenarios and content that reflect the latest security threats to enhance the effectiveness of training. They will also collaborate on the development and operation of cybersecurity education programs in the private sector, as well as conduct seminars, academic events, and policy research, thereby contributing to the revitalization of the regional cybersecurity ecosystem.

Through these efforts, the city aims to complement the limitations of theory-based cybersecurity education and strengthen procedural response capabilities in the event of actual incidents. It also plans to enhance the professional expertise of information security personnel in the city and its affiliated public institutions and foster cybersecurity knowledge.

Mayor Park Heong-joon stated, “Recent cyberattacks are becoming increasingly intelligent and sophisticated, expanding into issues directly related to citizens’ safety,” adding, “Through cooperation with Dong-A University, we will strengthen the practical response capabilities of public officials and further reinforce cybersecurity in the local community.”
