Busan Metropolitan City to Host “2026 Busan Dental Exhibition (BDEX)” to Rally Support for Attracting the National Dental Research Institute

Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) announced that it will host the “2026 Busan Dental Exhibition (hereinafter BDEX, Busan Dental Exhibition)” for two days from tomorrow (21) to March 22 at Exhibition Center II of BEXCO.

This event is hosted by the city and jointly organized by the Busan Dental Association and Busan Economic Promotion Agency, and is a leading domestic dental event where a dental exhibition and an international academic conference are held simultaneously.

This event is expected to serve not only as an industrial platform for sharing the latest digital dental technologies and expanding market opportunities for companies, but also as an opportunity to promote nationwide support for establishing the National Dental Research Institute in Busan through the symposium and performance.

At 4:00 PM on the opening day, Kwon Geung-rok, President of the Korean Academy of Dental Sciences, will host a symposium under the theme “The Necessity of Establishing the National Dental Research Institute.”

This symposium is expected to help expand awareness within the dental community regarding the necessity of establishing the institute and attracting it to Busan.

Following the symposium, an attraction support performance involving the national dental community and citizens will be held during the opening ceremony at 5:00 PM. This performance is expected to symbolically demonstrate the strong commitment to attracting the institute to Busan.

Approximately 90 attendees, including members of the National Assembly and key figures from the dental community, are expected to attend the opening ceremony.

The dental exhibition and international academic conference have established themselves as representative dental events of Busan.

At the dental exhibition, around 80 related companies will participate to showcase products incorporating the latest technologies, such as digital dental treatment equipment and systems, and will provide business-to-business (B2B) consultations through various promotional activities.

The international academic conference will feature 28 diverse academic programs, including the latest dental treatment technologies and continuing education, with around 50 overseas participants from seven countries, including Taiwan and India, expected to attend, making it a venue for international academic exchange and sharing global technology trends.

In addition, the exhibition will include a joint promotional pavilion for the Busan dental industry to support local companies in expanding market channels and promoting their products.

A total of 19 dental laboratories and equipment companies will participate, with support provided for booth operation and promotion within the joint pavilion.

Mayor Park Heong-joon stated, “This BDEX will serve as a venue to showcase the latest technologies and future of the dental industry, as well as an important opportunity to raise nationwide awareness of the need to attract the National Dental Research Institute to Busan,” adding, “We will consolidate the capabilities of industry, academia, research, and the medical sector to ensure the institute is established in Busan and make every effort to enable Busan to emerge as a global hub for digital dentistry.”
