Busan Metropolitan City to Hold City Administration Briefing to Share Citizen-Led Change and Global Hub Vision

Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) announced that it will hold a city administration briefing session titled “Talking About Busan as a Global Hub City” on the 24th at 15:20 at the main arena of Sajik Indoor Gymnasium, with citizens and key local figures in attendance.

This briefing session has been organized as a participatory communication event in which citizens directly take part in discussing Busan’s transformation and future development directions.

The event will begin with opening performances by a classical jazz band and “VISTA,” followed by the screening of a video titled “World Design Capital Busan,” produced using artificial intelligence (AI) video techniques through collaboration between Dongseo University students and Busan Metropolitan City, along with additional content showcasing Busan’s transformation.

Next, citizen representatives will take part to directly introduce the changes in Busan they have experienced in their daily lives.

Following this, Mayor Park will deliver a briefing explaining the changes in Busan and outlining future policy directions aimed at advancing the city into a global hub.

In addition, Busan natives active in the Seoul metropolitan area, including actor Byeon Woo-min and comedian Hong Rok-gi, will participate as panelists to share a range of perspectives.

They will exchange views on Busan’s urban image and competitiveness as seen from the metropolitan area, as well as its potential as a global city.

A session for dialogue with citizens will also be held, during which attendees can directly ask questions or present suggestions regarding city administration and receive responses.

Mayor Park Heong-joon stated, “This briefing session is a platform for communication where we can reflect on Busan’s transformation together with citizens and share the direction of the city’s development,” adding, “We will continue to pursue policies that citizens can truly experience through ongoing communication, and strive to ensure that Busan grows into a city that competes on the global stage.”
