Mayor Park Heong-joon: “Team Busan’s Achievements to Be Linked to Global Business” — CES 2026 Integrated Busan Pavilion Review Seminar Held

Busan Metropolitan City, led by Mayor Park Heong-joon, announced that it will hold the “CES 2026 Integrated Busan Pavilion” Review Seminar today (February 27) at 4:00 p.m. in the Grand Conference Room of City Hall.

The seminar has been organized to share the outcomes of participation in CES 2026 and to discuss follow-up strategies, including support measures to enhance the global competitiveness of Busan-based companies.

This year’s Integrated Busan Pavilion operated under the slogan “Team Busan (TEAM BUSAN) Season 2,” following last year’s initiative. A total of 28 innovative companies from Busan and six related institutions collaborated, making it the largest pavilion ever organized.

In particular, the Busan Rise Innovation Institute joined forces with six local universities to implement an industry–academia integrated model, presenting a new collaborative framework in which companies, universities, and related institutions worked as a unified team to advance into overseas markets.

In terms of tangible outcomes, the pavilion recorded approximately USD 28.67 million in projected contracts, including two on-site contracts worth USD 3 million and additional agreements expected to be finalized within one year.

This marks a significant increase compared to CES 2024 (USD 10 million) and CES 2025 (USD 17.39 million), demonstrating the continued advancement of on-site consultation expertise and global marketing capabilities.

The results are also attributed to strategic preparations made from the early planning stage, including the early selection of participating companies and customized consulting and investor relations (IR) capacity-building programs, enabling immediate consultations and contract discussions on site.

At CES 2026, a total of 13 Busan companies won Innovation Awards, including two Best of Innovation Awards, officially recognizing the technological excellence of Busan companies on the international stage.

The seminar will proceed in the following order: ▲ Screening of an on-site video from the CES 2026 Integrated Busan Pavilion ▲ Roundtable discussion titled “The Future of Busan Envisioned by Team Busan” ▲ Expert lecture, “Reading CES 2026 Trends” ▲ Presentations on achievements by participating companies.

In the first session, Mayor Park Heong-joon will join company representatives in a discussion under the theme “The Future of Busan Envisioned by Team Busan,” sharing achievements and challenges while exploring step-by-step follow-up support measures to help Busan companies establish themselves in global markets.

In the second session, three individuals will receive the newly established “Integrated Busan Pavilion Distinguished Contributor Award” in recognition of their contributions to the successful operation of the pavilion and industrial development. The awardees are CEO Jeong Seung of CIT Co., Ltd., CEO Lee Soo-kyung of O2Lab Co., Ltd., and Director Choi Min-wook of Korea LFP Co., Ltd., who were highly commended for their efforts in identifying global buyers, generating achievements, and enhancing the brand value of “Team Busan.”

In the subsequent expert lecture, Lee Im-bok, head of Second Brain Research Institute, will analyze future technology trends identified at CES, including artificial intelligence (AI), digital health, and smart mobility, and present strategies for future participation in CES. Participating companies Korea LFP Co., Ltd. and O2Lab Co., Ltd. will also share their on-site experiences and key achievements.

Following the official program, a closing ceremony for “Team Busan Season 2” will be held, along with a roundtable discussion to establish participation strategies for CES 2027, focusing on exhibition preparation directions and required support measures.
