East Busan Branch of the Vehicle Registration Office Expands Operations to Handle Commercial Vehicle Registration

Busan Metropolitan City, led by Mayor Park Heong-joon, announced that beginning February 23, the East Busan Branch of the Vehicle Registration Office will expand its functions and operate as a specialized facility for commercial vehicle registration.

The East Busan Branch was established within Gijang Gymnasium and opened on March 21 last year to improve accessibility for residents in East Busan who had difficulty visiting the main Vehicle Registration Office, and to ensure prompt handling of civil service requests.

Since its opening, demand for vehicle registration services has steadily increased, and with the activation of a nearby public freight truck garage and a large-scale vehicle sales complex, the branch will significantly expand its scope of work. In addition to handling transfers and modifications for private vehicles, it will now provide one-stop civil services for all commercial vehicle registration affairs, including new registrations, transfers, modifications, deregistration, and issuance of license plates.

Through this expansion, the City expects to reduce waiting times and travel burdens related to vehicle registration services, enhance administrative satisfaction among commercial vehicle operators and local residents, and help narrow the gap in vehicle administrative services between the eastern and western parts of the city.

Mayor Park Heong-joon stated, “The East Busan Branch represents a practical improvement in administrative services to resolve long-standing inconveniences experienced by citizens regarding vehicle-related civil affairs. We will continue to expand citizen-centered, on-site administrative services going forward.”
