Busan Metropolitan City to Recruit 60 Teams for the 2026 Youth Community Activity Support Program Starting Today (Feb. 6)

Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) announced that it will recruit participating teams for the “2026 Youth Community Activity Support Program” from today (the 6th) through February 22.

The Youth Community Activity Support Program aims to build a foundation for diverse youth activities and promote youth social participation by supporting youth communities that voluntarily engage in activities based on shared interests. Building on last year’s efforts, the City has further expanded the program this year by selecting a total of 60 teams and increasing the scale of activity funding.

The City will select a total of 60 teams: 10 “Community-Oriented” teams engaged in activities for local revitalization; 10 “Social Problem-Solving” teams that identify and work to resolve social issues; 20 “Talent-Sharing” teams focused on volunteer activities based on individual skills and talents; and 20 “Self-Directed” teams that carry out autonomous activities based on shared interests such as self-development or Busan-focused initiatives.

The total project budget is KRW 250 million. Activity funding will be provided per team as follows: KRW 5 million for Community-Oriented teams, KRW 3 million for Social Problem-Solving teams, KRW 2 million for Talent-Sharing teams, and KRW 1 million for Self-Directed teams.

In particular, the City will strengthen the overall substance of the program by actively reflecting the opinions of young people. Through the newly designed “Youth Networking Program,” it will promote the revitalization of social networks among youth.

The community activity period will be extended from April to early November, and for Talent-Sharing teams, the activity funding amount will be increased from KRW 1.5 million to KRW 2 million. In addition, the number of “Youth Community Networking Day” events—where communities freely interact with one another—will be expanded to two. Existing programs aimed at strengthening youth community capacity, including the “Cheongchun Yecham” event and the “Cheongchun Eoram” festival, will be improved to further enhance inter-community exchange based on youth feedback. Through these efforts, the City plans to invigorate youth communities and support the formation and expansion of social networks among young people.

Any community composed of at least five Busan youths aged 18 to 39 is eligible to apply. Final participating teams will be selected through a final review scheduled for March, and activities will begin in April.

Applications can be submitted online through the Busan Youth Platform (young.busan.go.kr). Further details are available on the Busan Youth Platform or in the public notice issued by the Busan Economic Promotion Agency.

Last year, a total of 50 youth community teams were selected, with approximately 540 young people actively participating in various fields including local volunteer service, culture and the arts, and talent sharing.
