Busan Metropolitan City to Hold Integrated Briefing Session on 2026 Support Programs for SMEs and Small Business Owners

□ Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) announced that it will hold the “2026 Busan Metropolitan City Integrated Briefing Session on Support Programs for SMEs and Small Business Owners” on February 10, starting at 10:00 a.m., on the first floor of the BEXCO Convention Hall, together with 14 support organizations for SMEs and small business owners.

○ This integrated briefing session was arranged to address management difficulties and provide guidance on support measures for local SMEs and small business owners facing challenges amid growing uncertainty in domestic and external economic conditions.

○ By bringing together separate briefing sessions conducted by individual organizations into a single event, it is expected to enhance convenience for business owners, expand information exchange, and provide broader networking opportunities.

□ The session will be joined by a total of 14 organizations, including City-affiliated organizations such as the Busan Economic Promotion Agency and Busan Technopark, as well as government and related organizations such as the Busan Regional Office of Public Procurement Service, the Busan Regional Office of Employment and Labor, and the Korea Technology Finance Corporation (KOTEC), each of which will present its respective support policies.

○ The Busan Economic Promotion Agency, a City-affiliated organization, will introduce support programs for businesses—such as financing, online and offline marketing, and overseas market development—as well as programs supporting small business owners with start-ups, growth, and recovery, along with employment and youth support programs. Busan Technopark will present technology support programs for local SMEs.

○ The Busan Credit Guarantee Foundation will introduce policy financing support for small enterprises and small business owners; the Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency will present support programs for the ICT and cultural content industries; and Design Council Busan will introduce support in the design sector, including design development and technology convergence.

○ Among government and related organizations, the Busan Regional Office of Public Procurement Service will explain the public procurement system; the Busan Regional Office of Employment and Labor will introduce employment incentives and work-life balance job support programs; and the Small Enterprise and Market Service will present support measures for small business owners and traditional markets.

○ In addition, the Korea Credit Guarantee Fund will explain SME support systems such as credit guarantees; the Korea Technology Finance Corporation (KOTEC) will introduce its technology guarantee system; the Korea SMEs & Startups Distribution & Marketing Agency will present the pilot purchase program for technology-developed products; the Human Resources Development Service of Korea will introduce workforce competency development programs for corporate vocational training; the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency will present financial support programs for accident prevention at small-scale workplaces; and the KOTRA Busan Support Center will introduce export support programs for companies.

□ In addition, one-on-one (1:1) consultation spaces (booths) will be operated by each organization to provide tailored counseling by company.

□ Anyone interested may attend the briefing session, and may either apply in advance online (https://forms.gle/CBXfRM5SSWKokFKo8) or register on-site on the day of the event.

□ In the lobby of the venue, a “Regional Products Sales Fair” will also be held in celebration of the Lunar New Year holiday, where visitors can see outstanding local products in one place.
○ Various promotional and sales booths will be set up, including Dongbaek Sanghoe, the Busan Brand Shop, the Regional Excellent Companies Zone, and the Innovative Products Companies Zone, along with a range of programs such as participatory prize-giveaway events for visitors.

□ Kim Bong-cheol, Assistant Mayor of Digital Economy Office, said, “Through this integrated briefing session, I hope local businesses and small business owners will be able to obtain the information they need effectively and reduce management burdens,” adding, “I also hope the sales fair being held together with it will help raise awareness of local company products and expand sales channels.”
