Busan Metropolitan City to Hold Information Systems Project Briefing This Year, Expanding Participation Opportunities for Local ICT Companies

Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) announced that it will hold the “2026 Information Systems Project Briefing” at 2:00 p.m. on the 10th in the International Conference Hall (12th floor) of City Hall.

The briefing is designed to disclose in advance the information systems projects 추진 by the city, districts, counties, public corporations, and public enterprises, and to share key details in order to provide greater participation opportunities for local information and communications technology (ICT) companies and support regional economic revitalization.

Busan Metropolitan City has been holding information systems project briefings on a regular basis every year to strengthen communication with local ICT companies and to reflect on-site feedback in policy formulation and project implementation.

This year, Busan Metropolitan City plans to invest approximately KRW 67.3 billion in a total of 534 information systems projects, including 113 projects worth KRW 34.2 billion by the city headquarters and affiliated offices, 226 projects worth KRW 14.7 billion by districts and counties, and 195 projects worth KRW 18.4 billion by public corporations, public enterprises, and other public institutions.

Through these efforts, the city aims not only to enhance administrative efficiency and improve the quality of public services for citizens, but also to establish a foundation for the sustainable growth of the local information and communications technology (ICT) industry.

At the briefing, the city, districts and counties, and public institutions including public corporations and public enterprises will participate to introduce major information systems projects scheduled for procurement this year and explain project directions and detailed contents.

The program will consist of an overview of the city’s information systems policy goals and implementation directions, an introduction to the scale and major details of planned information systems projects, detailed explanations by project managers for major projects with budgets of KRW 200 million or more, a question-and-answer session, and a one-on-one communication corner.

In particular, the city plans to focus on enhancing understanding of the projects through direct question-and-answer sessions between project managers and companies, and on providing practical information that companies need.

Anyone interested in information systems projects, including representatives of information and communications technology (ICT) companies, may participate in the briefing, and it is expected that the event will further strengthen cooperative networks between public institutions and local companies.

Park Geun-rok, Director General of the Administrative Management Bureau of Busan Metropolitan City, stated, “Through this information systems project briefing, we aim to transparently disclose projects scheduled for procurement, expand participation opportunities for local information and communications technology (ICT) companies, and invigorate the regional economy,” adding, “We will continue to do our utmost to promote information systems projects that foster mutual growth with local companies.”
