Busan Supports Self-Reliant Youth Taking Their First Steps: Busan Chapter of the Korea Construction Association Donates KRW 20 Million

Busan Metropolitan City, together with the Korea Construction Association Busan Chapter and the Busan Community Chest of Korea, announced today that it will hold a donation ceremony on the morning of January 30 in the Reception Room at Busan City Hall to support self-reliant youth.

Attendees will include Mayor Park Heong-joon, Korea Construction Association Busan Chapter Chair Jeong Hyeong-yeol, and Busan Community Chest of Korea Chair Lee Su-tae.

The ceremony was arranged as part of the Korea Construction Association Busan Chapter’s efforts to promote regional coexistence and fulfill its social responsibility, with the aim of supporting stable independence for self-reliant youth who are in the early stages of entering society after aging out of protection.

At the ceremony, the Korea Construction Association Busan Chapter will donate KRW 20 million to support self-reliant youth in Busan.

The donation will be used, through the Busan Community Chest of Korea, for practical self-reliance support programs such as job-linked training, counseling, mentoring, and assistance with daily necessities and initial housing settlement.

The Korea Construction Association Busan Chapter has carried out social contribution activities each year for vulnerable groups in the region and is working to foster a construction industry environment that grows together with the local community.

Busan Metropolitan City, jointly with the Korea Construction Association Busan Chapter, provides annual training on the Framework Act on the Construction Industry in order to minimize administrative penalties imposed on local construction companies and to establish fair trade order in the construction market.

In addition, cooperation is being strengthened to eradicate serious accidents occurring at construction sites.

Meanwhile, the number of self-reliant youth in Busan stands at around 700. Centered on the city’s dedicated self-reliance support agency, comprehensive support policies are being implemented, including customized support by sector—such as finance, employment, housing, and education—case management, and self-reliance experience programs.

Mayor Park Heong-joon is expected to express his gratitude, stating, “I would like to thank the Korea Construction Association Busan Chapter for practicing meaningful sharing with deep affection and a sense of responsibility for Busan.” He will also add, “Busan Metropolitan City will continue to make multifaceted efforts to revitalize the construction economy and stabilize the construction market.”
