Busan Marine Natural History Museum to Host “Curator Talk” Featuring Exhibition Planner

Busan Marine Natural History Museum (hereinafter “the Museum”) announced that it will host “Curator Talk,” a program that allows visitors to meet the exhibition planner of the special exhibition “The Adventures of Coelacanth.”

As the 2025–2026 special exhibition “The Adventures of Coelacanth” is on view through February 22, the Museum has prepared this program so that visitors can enjoy the exhibition more easily and in a more engaging way by meeting the exhibition planner.

Unlike conventional docent-led tours, “Curator Talk” is designed to encourage communication and interaction with visitors.

From tomorrow (the 3rd) through February 14, the program will be held at 4:00 p.m. every Wednesday and every other Saturday in the special exhibition gallery, where visitors can experience the exhibition together with the planner.

During the program, the exhibition planner will explain the intent behind the exhibition, the preparation process, and other behind-the-scenes aspects, while also sharing experiences and anecdotes related to the exhibition and engaging directly with visitors.

Meanwhile, this exhibition is Korea’s first special exhibition on the living fossil fish “Coelacanth” and the concept of living fossils, and it will remain on view through February 22.

Along with the coelacanth’s biological characteristics, the exhibition has received strong public interest and support by presenting a wide range of content that makes marine natural history easy and enjoyable to explore, including a section titled “Myths and Facts About Living Fossils.”

In particular, by displaying specimens of extant organisms alongside fossil specimens, the exhibition offers a variety of attractions. Visitors can also enjoy a stamp tour, completing an “expedition map” by exploring every corner of the exhibition space.
