Busan Metropolitan City to Recruit Beneficiaries for the “Newlywed Housing Loan and Interest Support Program” for Q1 2026

Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) announced that it will recruit beneficiaries for the “Newlywed Housing Loan and Interest Support Program” for the first quarter of next year (2026), from today (the 26th) through January 9, 2026.

The City has been implementing this program since 2020 for newlywed couples without home ownership to ease the burden of housing costs for newlyweds and to create an environment conducive to marriage and childbirth.

To increase participation by dual-income newlywed couples and to enable them to choose a wider range of housing options, the City has been expanding and operating the eligibility criteria since last year (2024) to ▲combined annual income of KRW 130 million or less ▲housing lease deposit of KRW 400 million or less.

Under the program, the City provides loan interest support for two years (up to ten years with extensions), with ▲a maximum loan interest rate of 2.0 percent (%) per year and ▲a maximum of KRW 4 million in loan interest per year; ▲Busan Bank provides a lease deposit loan of up to KRW 200 million; and ▲the Korea Housing Finance Corporation guarantees 100 percent (%) of the loan.

The City plans to select and support a total of 400 households in the first quarter (1,500 households in total for 2026). If the number of applicant households exceeds the recruitment quota, beneficiaries will be selected through a random draw.

Eligible applicants are newlywed couples (within seven years of the marriage registration date) or prospective newlyweds (within three months of the scheduled marriage date) who are registered as residents of Busan Metropolitan City as of the application start date (December 26, 2025).

They must meet the requirements, including ▲combined annual income of KRW 130 million or less ▲a housing unit (including apartments) and residential officetel with a lease deposit of KRW 400 million or less ▲the conclusion of a lease contract with a confirmed date by the day before the end of the application period (January 8, 2026).

However, the following are excluded: homeowners; those who have entered into a lease contract with their parents; residents of public rental housing; recipients of basic livelihood support; previous beneficiaries (participation allowed only once per lifetime); and those receiving duplicate benefits from similar support programs.

Newlywed couples without home ownership who reside in the City and wish to receive support may apply via the Busan Bank mobile banking app from 09:00 today (the 26th) until 16:00 on January 9, 2026.

The selection results will be announced on January 13, 2026, on the City’s website (busan.go.kr/childcare/childcare010106).

After the screening of beneficiaries, the loan disbursement period for those who pass the screening will run from January 29 through March 31, 2026.
