Busan Metropolitan City to Host “Together, It’s Truly Wonderful—Fun!tastic Busan” Year-End Concert on the Last Saturday of the Year

Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) announced that it will hold an end-of-year concert, “Together, It’s Truly Wonderful—Fun!tastic Busan,” at 4:30 p.m. on December 27 at Dahaeul Lecture Hall in Domoheon (the former mayoral residence), an open cultural complex where any citizen can come and enjoy the event together.

The City has prepared a festival that anyone can enjoy so that citizens who have worked hard throughout the year can build joyful memories with beautiful music and happily wrap up the year. To this end, the City has invited a lineup of highly talented musicians active in Busan to present a rich and varied stage.

In particular, the subtitle of this event, “Fun!tastic Busan,” reflects the City’s new tourism keyword: to create “a global tourism hub city where every day is fun,” as it moves beyond the recent milestone of welcoming 3 million foreign tourists and prepares for the era of 5 million visitors.

The event will be held in two parts. Part 1 (4:30–5:00 p.m.) will open with the closing ceremony for the “2025 Busan Metropolitan City Media Members,” who have been active across the City’s administration throughout the year.

A total of 120 Media Members participated this year, producing more than 2,300 pieces of content by covering a wide range of municipal issues—such as key policies, culture, and international events—from the citizens’ perspective. Among them, 830 items ranked in Naver’s “Most Viewed News (TOP 10),” playing a meaningful role in promoting City policies.

The closing ceremony will feature: ▲ screening of a video highlighting the 2025 activities and achievements ▲ presentations reflecting on activities ▲ awards for outstanding participants, among others. The City will present certificates of participation to all Media Members and award mayoral commendations to five members with outstanding achievements to recognize their efforts.

In addition, on the second floor of Domoheon, at Beonru, a photo and video exhibition will be held showcasing the Media Members’ journey over the past year, offering attendees a meaningful space to reflect on the significance of their activities.

Part 2 (5:00–6:30 p.m.) will be an invited concert for citizens titled “Together, It’s Truly Wonderful—Fun!tastic Busan.”

At the concert, a variety of citizens’ stories submitted under the theme “Fun Busan” will be introduced. By sharing fun and moving episodes experienced across Busan throughout the year, the event will provide a time of communication in which all audience members can share warm empathy.

A rich lineup of performances will also add to Busan’s romantic atmosphere. Three outstanding local teams will take the stage: ▲ “Busan Jazzmen,” led by Kim Kyung-hwan, offering sweet jazz melodies ▲ “Burning Soda,” an indie band that sings about Busan ▲ “Chinchin Tango,” an ensemble delivering passionate tango performances. The concert will be presented in a talk-concert format so that citizens can enjoy the performances comfortably, with plans to further enhance audience immersion.

Not only citizens specially invited through the advance story submission, but also any citizen visiting Domoheon on the day of the event may enter freely and enjoy the performance for free, on a first-come, first-served basis for up to 100 people.

In addition, the concert can also be enjoyed vividly through a large display installed in the multipurpose space of Beonru on the second floor of Domoheon, creating a natural space for communication where anyone can enjoy the music comfortably while coming and going.

The City plans to capture the vivid emotions of the performance and later present them as video content under the title “Together, It’s Truly Wonderful.”

“Together, It’s Truly Wonderful” is a citizen-participatory music concert brand of the City’s official YouTube channel, “BusanTube.” It is a project that produces and shares performances held in spaces close to citizens in the form of content.

Won Young-il, spokesperson for Busan Metropolitan City, said, “This concert is meaningful in that it takes place at Domoheon, which is truly open to citizens, where citizens themselves become the main characters—sharing the year’s stories and communicating through music. I hope everyone who attends will find warm comfort and joy and welcome a hopeful 2026.” He added, “Going forward, we will continue to listen more closely to the voices of our citizens and do our utmost to create ‘Busan, where you would want to live even if you were born again,’ and ‘Busan, a global tourism hub city where every day is fun.’”
