Domoheon, Busan’s Multi-Cultural Complex, Surpasses 400,000 Cumulative Visitors and Hosts a Year-End Family Appreciation Event

□ Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) announced that it will host the “2025 Domoheon Year-End Family Appreciation Event” (hereinafter referred to as “the event”) over two days on December 24 and 25, in order to share the warm year-end and holiday atmosphere with citizens.

○ The event commemorates the milestone of surpassing 400,000 cumulative visitors as of December 14, just one year and three months after Domoheon’s opening, and is designed to allow families visiting Domoheon during Christmas and the year-end holiday season to enjoy warm relaxation and cultural experiences together.

○ To ensure that many citizens can participate and fully enjoy the romance of winter evenings, Domoheon will extend its operating hours until 9:00 p.m. on December 24. It will also be specially open on Christmas Day, December 25, to welcome even more visitors.

Overview of the Domoheon Year-End Family Appreciation Event

○ Period: December 24, 2025 (Wed.) 10:00–21:00 / December 25, 2025 (Thu.) 10:00–18:00
*Special opening on Christmas Day

○ Venue: Domoheon Main Building and SosoPung Garden, among other areas

○ Eligibility: Open to all citizens

○ Programs: Domoheon-curated performances, participatory programs, and side events

□ The event will be filled with a rich lineup of cultural and artistic programs that families of all ages can enjoy together.

○ In the main building, a heartwarming family musical performance and a Christmas concert with soothing melodies will captivate audiences’ eyes and ears. In addition, a photo time with “Bugi,” the city’s communication character, and a traditional games experience zone where families can gather and enjoy activities together will also be operated. Visitors can further enjoy a variety of hands-on programs such as mug-making, bead crafts, and calligraphy, as well as a flea market, creating abundant year-end memories for citizens.

□ All programs are free of charge and open to the public, though some programs require advance reservations.

○ Participatory programs can be joined through on-site registration, while reservations for the family musical performances and Christmas concert can be made in advance online via the official Domoheon website at https://www.busan.go.kr/domoheon.

□ Meanwhile, to extend the festive year-end atmosphere, Domoheon will exceptionally extend its operating hours until 10:00 p.m. on December 30 and 31, offering citizens who wish to spend the closing days of the year at Domoheon a more relaxed and enjoyable cultural experience. In addition, various programs will continue to be operated into early next year to further enhance the value of Domoheon and provide visitors with new attractions.

○ Winter illumination displays will be installed at SosoPung Garden, Busan’s first lifestyle garden, featuring soft reed lighting and starlight bulbs to create a warm and inviting walking path. Inside the main building on the first and second floors, a large Christmas tree and refined winter-themed objects will be displayed through the end of January next year, offering visitors beautiful photo zones perfect for capturing lasting memories.

○ The first floor of the main building, previously used as an exhibition space, will be transformed into the “SosoPung Lounge,” a relaxation area for citizens. Equipped with chairs, tables, and other convenience facilities, as well as books, the lounge will provide an open space where anyone can freely rest and read.

○ From January through the end of February next year, an exterior media façade exhibition reflecting the symbolic identity of Domoheon will be presented. By projecting media visuals depicting Domoheon’s past, transformation, and harmony onto the exterior walls of the main building, the exhibition will offer a new winter attraction, along with accompanying performances and side events for visitors after viewing.

□ Mayor Park Heong-joon remarked, “It is deeply meaningful that Domoheon has surpassed 400,000 visitors thanks to the great support of our citizens. Through this year-end family appreciation event, I hope citizens will create warm memories with their families and spend a meaningful year-end and holiday season at Domoheon.” He added, “We will continue to plan and offer diverse content so that Domoheon can firmly establish itself as a cultural and relaxation space that citizens can visit anytime in their daily lives.”
