Traffic Restrictions for Jangsan Tunnels 1 and 2 Due to Installation of Tunnel Entry Blocking Systems

Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) announced that, starting tomorrow (December 8), traffic will be restricted at Jangsan Tunnels 1 and 2 (Jangsan-ro, Haeundae-gu) until January 20 next year due to the installation of tunnel entry blocking facilities.

This project involves installing vehicle entry blocking systems at Jangsan Tunnels 1 and 2. The facilities are intended to quickly block vehicle entry in the event of disasters such as fires, thereby preventing secondary accidents. The construction will be carried out by Boram Information & Communications Co., Ltd. and CWH Tech Co., Ltd.

• ●Location: Vicinity of Jangsan Tunnels 1 and 2 on Jangsan-ro (U-dong–Jwa-dong), Haeundae-gu

• ●Scope of Work: Installation of entry blocking systems (two locations), piping and wiring work, etc.

• ●Construction Period: September 2, 2025–January 29, 2026
  ※ This is the full project duration; traffic restrictions will apply only during part of this period.

Traffic control will be implemented during evening and early morning hours to avoid congestion during peak commute times. Restrictions will be in place for seven hours each night, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following day.

During this period, one lane (lanes 1 and 3) out of three in both directions of Jangsan Tunnels 1 and 2 will be alternately closed. Two remaining lanes will remain open for public use to minimize inconvenience.

Additional daytime restrictions are scheduled for December 9 and 10, with one-hour closures from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Min Sun-gi, Director General of the Urban Space Planning Bureau, stated, “We will complete the construction thoroughly and swiftly to ensure the safety of citizens using the tunnels,” and added, “We ask for your cooperation and understanding during the traffic restriction period.”
