Banyeo Agricultural Wholesale Market Holds “Kimchi Cabbage Sharing of Love” Event

Busan Metropolitan City’s Banyeo Agricultural Wholesale Market Management Office announced that it held the “2025 Kimchi Cabbage Sharing of Love” event today (December 5) at 11:00 a.m. at the east-side event area of the radish and cabbage building of the wholesale market.

Now in its 14th year, the event was organized to support vulnerable households in Haeundae-gu and Gijang-gun by providing kimchi cabbage to help them prepare for the winter season, while also promoting a culture of sharing.

At the event, wholesale market distributors—including Nonghyup Banyeo Auction House, Busan Jungang Cheonggwa Co., Ltd., Dongbu Cheonggwa Co., Ltd., the Vegetable Settlement Association, the Seasoning Settlement Association, and the Shopping District Cooperative—donated a total of 8,100 heads of kimchi cabbage.

The donated cabbage will be delivered to neighbors in need in Haeundae-gu and Gijang-gun through 11 local welfare centers in Haeundae-gu and the Saemaul Women’s Association of Gijang-gun.

Since 2012, wholesale market distributors at Banyeo Agricultural Wholesale Market have donated 120,000 heads of kimchi cabbage worth approximately 250 million won to support vulnerable neighbors. In addition, from 2017 to the present, they have provided seasonal fruits such as grapes and apples worth approximately 55 million won to eight local children’s centers in Haeundae-gu.

Kim Eun-yong, Director of the Banyeo Agricultural Wholesale Market Management Office, stated, “As this kimchi cabbage sharing event marks its 14th year, we hope it will continue to deliver warmth and care to local residents,” adding, “Our office will continue to do its best to promote sharing and to ensure the supply of high-quality agricultural products through the Banyeo Agricultural Wholesale Market.”
