Enhancing Busan’s Beauty Industry Competitiveness: Busan Metropolitan City to Host the “2025 Busan Beauty Art Festival”

Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) announced that it will host the “2025 Busan Beauty Art Festival” for two days from November 24 (Mon) to November 25 (Tue) at the Busan Port International Exhibition & Convention Center.

○ The “Busan Beauty Art Festival” is designed to promote technical information exchange among beauty specialists, discover outstanding beauty talents in Busan, and strengthen the overall competitiveness of the beauty industry. It also features various beauty-themed experiences, making it an enjoyable festival for citizens.

○ Approximately 2,000 visitors, including participants in the beauty skills competitions and general attendees, are expected to join the event.

This year’s festival will feature a diverse program, starting with the opening ceremony and followed by beauty skills competitions and citizen-participation events.

○ The opening ceremony will take place tomorrow, November 24 (Mon), at 2:00 p.m. in the 5th-floor Event Hall. City officials, leaders of the beauty and hygiene associations, professors from beauty-related departments, and citizens will attend to celebrate the opening.

Beauty skills competitions will be held across the categories of hair, skin, and nail care, providing beauty professionals with the opportunity to fully showcase their abilities. Through these contests, outstanding beauty talents are expected to be identified.

○ Each competition will be supervised respectively by the Busan branches of the Korea Beautician Association, the Korea Aesthetic Business Association, and the Korea Nail Association.

○ A separate Capstone Design Contest for university students majoring in beauty will also be held, offering participants a platform to demonstrate their skills.

In addition to personalized color analysis sessions and hands-on beauty experiences—such as AI-based scalp diagnosis and makeup application—various citizen-participation programs will be featured, including beauty-celebrity talk shows, the Beauty Golden Bell quiz, the Persona Mask Contest, and career counseling for beauty-major students.

○ During the beauty-celebrity talk show, Kim So-yeon, CEO of MUP_SY, will demonstrate self-makeup techniques under three themes—wedding, party, and hanbok styling—while engaging with the audience and recommending suitable products.

○ The “Beauty Golden Bell” quiz program will cover topics such as K-beauty, hair, nails, and skincare, helping participants learn practical beauty knowledge while enjoying the event.

○ The “Persona Mask Contest” invites participants to express their “persona,” or inner self, by designing and decorating a mask. Participants will present their creations and personal stories on stage, and outstanding works will be selected.

Busan Metropolitan City expects this festival to not only provide a meaningful platform for beauty professionals to demonstrate their skills but also create an enjoyable experience for citizens.
