Busan Metropolitan City Launches “Season 2 of the Mega Prize Giveaway for Hometown Love Donations” for Warm Year-End Giving

Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) called for broad participation in the “Season 2 of the Grand Prize Giveaway for Hometown Love Donations – Busan’s Big Year-End Event,” which has been underway since October 16.

This event began in connection with the “106th National Sports Festival” and has already attracted the heartfelt participation of more than 5,000 people. The city aims to reach a total of 50,000 donors by the end of the year and looks forward to receiving warm contributions from an additional 45,000 participants in the remaining period.

In particular, to express gratitude to donors during the year-end season and expand their range of choices, Busan Metropolitan City has prepared special additional return gifts. Newly introduced items include:
▲ Samgyeopsal & neck-pork set from Gukje Food
▲ Camping fishcake set from Samjin Food
▲ Stollen (German Christmas cake) from Lee Heung-yong Bakery
▲ New Hwanggeum Rice from Garak Nonghyup
These additions are expected to receive a strong positive response from donors.

So far, the most frequently selected return gifts include:

▲ Samjin Food’s fishcake set
▲ Ant House’s nakgopsae (spicy stir-fried octopus, tripe, and shrimp)

In addition to the return gifts provided to all donors, prize events offer chances to win a stay at a five-star hotel in Haeundae or a premium Korean beef sirloin set.

Today (17th), Busan Metropolitan City will operate a promotional booth for the Hometown Love Donation Program at the venue of the “2025 National Saemaul Leaders’ Convention” held at Dadaepo Beach. The booth will actively inform visitors about the purpose of the donation program and how to participate.

The booth will provide detailed explanations about key benefits of the Hometown Love Donation Program—such as full tax credits for donations up to KRW 100,000 per year and return gifts equivalent to 30 percent of the donation amount—while showcasing representative return gifts to offer firsthand information.

In addition, the city will participate in the “Hometown Love Donation Expo,” hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and held at the Ulsan Exhibition and Convention Center from November 19 to 21, where it will operate an exhibition booth promoting Busan’s appeal. Various on-site donation events, information services, and displays of representative return gifts will also be offered to encourage warm giving.

Jo Young-tae, Director General of the Administrative Management Bureau, stated, “Thanks to the warm interest and participation of many people, the event is progressing smoothly. We ask for continued public interest and generosity during this year-end season, especially with our newly prepared special return gifts.”

Funds raised through the Hometown Love Donation Program will be reinvested into various social welfare initiatives in Busan, including support for vulnerable populations, youth development, and the enhancement of culture, arts, and public health.
