Traffic Control Notice Due to the Oryun Tunnel Situation Monitoring System Improvement Project

Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) announced that, due to the implementation of the situation monitoring system improvement project inside Oryun Tunnel, traffic will be partially controlled in certain sections of Oryun Tunnel (Oryun Tunnel area in Geumjeong-gu) from today (17th) through November 20.

This project aims to improve the situation monitoring system used to ensure rapid response during emergencies inside the tunnel. The construction work is being carried out by Bandosan Jeon Co., Ltd.

<Overview of the Project> - **Project Name:** Oryun Tunnel Situation Monitoring System Improvement Project - **Location:** Oryun Tunnel area, Geumjeong-gu - **Scope:** Improvement of the tunnel situation monitoring system (lump sum) - **Construction Period:** August 8, 2025 – December 5, 2025 ※ Traffic control will be enforced only during a portion of the overall construction period.

To avoid traffic congestion during peak commuting hours, traffic control will be implemented from 22:00 to 05:00 the following day, and will be fully lifted at 05:00 on November 20.

During the control period, one of the two tunnels in each direction within Oryun Tunnel will be closed, while the remaining tunnel will remain open for normal traffic to minimize inconvenience to citizens.

Min Soon-ki, Director of the Urban Space Planning Bureau, stated, “This project aims to provide a safer traffic environment for drivers using the tunnel,” and added, “We will complete the work promptly to minimize inconvenience to citizens, and we kindly ask for your understanding and cooperation regarding the temporary traffic control.”
