“We Won’t Fall for Voice Phishing Anymore!” Women’s Culture Center Shares Practical Response Strategies

Busan Metropolitan City’s Women’s Culture Center announced that it will operate the “2025 Second Half Women’s Awareness Enhancement Program” on December 5, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., at the Women’s Culture Center in collaboration with the Financial Supervisory Service, under the theme “Know More, Prevent More! Voice Phishing Prevention: A to Z.”

This special lecture is designed to prevent increasingly sophisticated telephone scams (voice phishing) and loan fraud, and to help citizens maintain safe financial practices.

In particular, as new methods such as AI voice manipulation, text-message scams (smishing), and “romance scams”* have surged in recent years, the program will provide practical preventive information and response tips based on real cases.

• ●Romance Scam: A scam technique in which the perpetrator pretends to have romantic interest and exploits the victim’s trust.

The lecture will cover practical topics including:
▲ major types and evolving patterns of voice phishing
▲ cases of loan fraud and text-message scams (smishing)
▲ everyday prevention guidelines.

• Participants: 100 general citizens residing in Busan Metropolitan City
