120th Anniversary Celebration: 2025 Annual Conference of the Korean Red Cross Busan Chapter to Be Held

Busan Metropolitan City announced that the “2025 Annual Conference of the Korean Red Cross Busan Chapter” will be held at 3 p.m. on November 11 in the main auditorium of Busan City Hall, hosted by the Korean Red Cross Busan Chapter (Chairman Seo Jeong-ui).

This year’s annual conference commemorates the 120th anniversary of the founding of the Korean Red Cross, honoring the dedication of those who have illuminated the local community with the spirit of volunteerism and humanitarianism, and recognizing individuals and organizations that have contributed to sharing and relief activities throughout the year.

Mayor Park Heong-joon, Superintendent Kim Seok-jun, and Busan Metropolitan Council Vice Chairperson Lee Jong-hwan will attend the event to encourage volunteers. About 600 participants, including Vice Chairman Choi Sam-seop of the Korean Red Cross Busan Chapter, executives, committee members, and Red Cross volunteers, are also expected to take part.

At this year’s annual conference, awards will be presented to commend the dedication and service of volunteers and donors who have contributed to the development of the local community. The honors include: ▲Mayor’s Commendation (10 recipients) ▲Superintendent of Education’s Commendation (8 recipients) ▲City Council Chairperson’s Certificate of Appreciation (8 recipients) ▲Korean Red Cross Decoration and Chairman’s Commendation (11 recipients) ▲Busan Chapter Chairman’s Commendation (10 recipients).

Mayor Park Heong-joon stated, “The Korean Red Cross Busan Chapter has been a reliable neighbor that has always stood with us through disasters and in our daily lives over the past 120 years. Your caring hands have made Busan a warmer and more compassionate city.”

He added, “Busan is now advancing toward becoming a global hub city with world-class competitiveness through innovation. The community spirit embodied by the Red Cross is the foundation of that vision, and I ask for your continued interest and active participation in the city’s development.”
