Classic Busan Presents “Hello Ballet – An Invitation to Ballet” Performance

Classic Busan announced that it will host “Hello Ballet – An Invitation to Ballet”, a ballet concert for the whole family, at the Busan Concert Hall on November 14 at 7:30 p.m. and November 15 at 5:00 p.m.

This performance will be presented in a gala concert format, featuring major scenes from well-known ballets with commentary by Kim Joo-won, Artistic Director of the “2025 Season Busan Opera House Ballet Company.”

Planned to promote the popularization of ballet, the performance will feature artistic direction by Kim Joo-won of the Busan Opera House Ballet Company and musical direction by Kim Kwang-hyun, Music Director of the Classic Busan Orchestra. Under his baton, 55 orchestra members will deliver a grand yet delicate live performance that is expected to deeply move audiences seeking the beauty of ballet.

“Hello Ballet – An Invitation to Ballet” embraces both classical and contemporary works, enhanced by Kim Joo-won’s insightful narration that allows the audience to enjoy each piece more fully.
The concert will showcase highlights from representative ballets such as Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, La Sylphide, and Paquita, designed to immerse audiences in the elegance and expressive artistry of classical ballet. Through Kim Joo-won’s engaging explanations and the company members’ refined performances, audiences will be invited into the colorful and diverse world of ballet.

In particular, the performance will also include a solo and pas de deux (a dance for two performers) from Shining Wave, an original ballet by the Busan Opera House Ballet Company that received acclaim at the 15th Korea Ballet Festival. This piece artistically embodies the beauty of Busan’s ocean and is expected to deliver deep emotional resonance to audiences.

The 2025 Season Busan Opera House Ballet Company and the Classic Busan Orchestra will perform together to create a seamless harmony between ballet and music.
Eleven ballet dancers — including Yoon Jeon-il, Kim Hee-hyun, Lee Joo-ho, Hong Ju-yeon, Kwak Ji-oh, and Jung Hye-yoon — along with 55 orchestra members will combine their talents to enhance the overall quality of the production, offering a truly artistic stage where ballet and music merge beautifully.
