Busan Metropolitan City Hosts the 5th Busan Lifelong Learning Week in Collaboration with the Busan Foundation for Women, Family, and Lifelong Education Promotion

Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) and the Busan Foundation for Women, Family, and Lifelong Education Promotion (President Yoon Ji-young) announced that they will host the 5th Busan Lifelong Learning Week for two days, from November 7 (Friday) to November 8 (Saturday), from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., on the 3rd floor of Exhibition Hall 2 at BEXCO.

The Busan Lifelong Learning Week serves as a festival where citizens and organizations involved in lifelong education in Busan share their achievements, spread the culture of learning, and enhance public interest in lifelong learning.
This year’s event will feature participation from 70 organizations, including the Office of Education, 16 districts and counties, and various lifelong education institutions.

Under the theme “A Journey of My Own Through Learning,” the event is designed to provide citizens with an overview of lifelong education in Busan and to promote the sharing of best practices among institutions and experts.
Programs will include:
– Operation of a Lifelong Education Promotion and Experience Booth for citizens to experience lifelong learning firsthand
– A Presentation of Achievements showcasing the 2025 lifelong education projects
– The Lifelong Learning Club Festival, where club members will demonstrate their talents
– An Exhibition of Award-Winning Works from the Literacy Poetry and Calligraphy Contest
– Various side events throughout the two-day period.

On the first day of the event, an opening ceremony will be held to present the Busan Lifelong Learning Grand Prize to three outstanding institutions that have contributed to the advancement of lifelong learning.
Other programs will include the Presentation of Achievements, the Challenge! Golden Bell quiz to celebrate learners who have completed adult literacy courses, and the Lifelong Education Forum on the role of lifelong learning in the hyper-intelligent society.

On the second day, aspiring instructors will showcase their own lifelong education programs through the “I Am a Lecturer” session, marking their first step toward becoming educators.
In addition, Professor You Young-man, who was selected as the 2025 Person of the Year, will deliver a special lecture for Busan Citizen College, and a Democratic Citizenship Education Workshop will explore democracy in everyday life.
Members of lifelong learning clubs will also present their performances and skills to citizens through the Lifelong Learning Club Festival.

The Lifelong Education Promotion and Experience Booth will be open throughout the event, offering visitors diverse information and hands-on learning opportunities.
The Exhibition of Award-Winning Literacy Works will touch audiences with sincere stories of late-life learners who have embarked on their educational journey.
In addition, side events such as a Stamp Tour and prize drawings will provide added fun and engagement for participants.
