OK Savings Bank OKman Pro Volleyball Club to Hold First Home Opening Match in Busan for the 2025–2026 Season!

Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) announced that the first home opening match of the OK Savings Bank OKman Pro Volleyball Club (owned by Choi Yoon) will be held at 2 p.m. on November 9 at the Gangseo Indoor Gymnasium.

This match marks the team’s first home game since relocating its franchise to Busan. The OKman will go head-to-head with last season’s runner-up, the Korean Air Jumbos.

The opening match will be attended by Mayor Park Heong-joon of Busan, Choi Yoon, owner of the OK Savings Bank OKman Volleyball Club, Cho Won-tae, President of the Korea Volleyball Federation, and approximately 4,000 spectators. This event will officially usher in the team’s new era in Busan.

Prior to the start of the match, a series of pre-game events will take place, including

• ●the screening of the OKman Volleyball Club’s season opening video,

• ●introductions of both the home and visiting team players,

• ●an opening declaration by the Mayor of Busan, and

• ●ceremonial first serves by Mayor Park, the club owner Choi Yoon, and the KOVO President Cho Won-tae.

The game will commence at 2 p.m. sharp. Led by new head coach Shin Young-cheol, and featuring top players such as veteran attackers Jeon Gwang-in, Lee Min-kyu, and Dimitar Dimitrov, a former member of the Bulgarian national team, the OKman will challenge the powerhouse Korean Air Jumbos in front of enthusiastic Busan fans in this historic first home game.

Since settling in Busan, the OK Savings Bank OKman Volleyball Club has been making every effort to win over local fans. The team has engaged with Busan citizens through various initiatives, such as

• ●youth volleyball clinics for local students,

• ●a launch ceremony and exhibition matches, and

• ●pop-up stores selling team merchandise.

At the volleyball clinic, held at the auxiliary court of the Gangseo Indoor Gymnasium since August 30, the team has been running sessions three times a month on Saturdays. On September 7, the club also hosted a special clinic with elite middle and high school volleyball teams from Busan at the same venue.

The launch ceremony and exhibition match for the 2025–2026 season, held on September 21, drew 2,351 fans. The event featured an exhibition match against the Korean Air Jumbos and a Q&A session with players, all met with great enthusiasm.

From October 17 to 30, the club operated a “Busan OKman Pop-up Store” on the basement floor of the Lotte Department Store Busan Main Branch, offering official merchandise, autograph sessions with players, and other fan engagement activities—continuing to build strong connections with the citizens of Busan.

Busan Metropolitan City expects that the relocation of the OKman Volleyball Club will contribute to the advancement of professional sports in Busan and the revitalization of volleyball. The city continues to provide various forms of support to ensure the club’s successful establishment.

The city has improved and upgraded facilities inside and outside the Gangseo Indoor Gymnasium—including enhanced amenities—to help improve the players’ performance. It is also actively promoting the opening match and the regular league games. Going forward, Busan will continue to foster a balanced development of elite and community sports, including nurturing young volleyball talent.

To celebrate its first home opening match in Busan, the OKman Volleyball Club will distribute free cheering T-shirts to all spectators.
