Busan Metropolitan City Hosts “Emergency Medical Network Meeting” A Platform for Discussion on Advancing the Emergency Medical System

Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) announced that it will host the “2025 Emergency Medical Network Meeting” on November 6 at 2 p.m. at the Busan Port International Exhibition & Convention Center.
The event will bring together approximately 150 participants, including representatives from the city government, the fire department, district and county health centers, emergency medical institutions, and the National Medical Center.

Now in its second year following last year’s inaugural event, this meeting has been organized to share strategies and policy examples for advancing the emergency medical system through reducing regional disparities, expanding essential medical services, and strengthening public healthcare. It also aims to enhance understanding of emergency medical policies among relevant institutions.
Participants will explore cooperative measures among emergency medical professionals and discuss future policy directions in light of changes in the medical environment, such as the lifting of public health crisis alerts.

The main program will include:
▲ commendations for outstanding contributors to emergency medical services ▲ sharing of Busan Metropolitan City’s 2025 emergency medical achievements and 2026 project plans ▲ discussion of key emergency medical issues and challenges ▲ presentation of policies linking emergency and public healthcare ▲ sharing of operational status of emergency medical institutions and a comprehensive panel discussion.

The city expects this networking event to provide a valuable opportunity to discuss new strategies and policy examples for reorganizing Busan’s emergency medical system.
In addition, by recognizing outstanding contributors to emergency medical services, Busan Metropolitan City hopes to boost morale among emergency medical professionals and take another step forward in enhancing the city’s emergency medical system.

Cho Gyu-yul, Director General of the Citizens’ Health Bureau, stated,
