Busan United in Sharing The 9th Red Cross Sharing Bazaar to Be Held

Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) announced that the 9th Red Cross Sharing Bazaar, hosted by the Busan Women’s Volunteer Advisory Committee (Chairperson Park Seong-eun) and organized by the Busan Chapter of the Korean Red Cross (Chairperson Seo Jeong-ui), will be held today (October 30) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Green Plaza of Busan City Hall.

This event is a festival of sharing and volunteerism open to all citizens. Approximately 70 kinds of donated goods—including food, clothing, and daily necessities—will be sold at discounts of 30–70 percent off retail prices. All proceeds will be used to support vulnerable groups and welfare programs.

The bazaar offers citizens an opportunity to participate in acts of sharing by purchasing goods. Food booths and other attractions will also be available, creating a cheerful atmosphere while reminding participants of the true meaning of volunteer service.

Mayor Park will personally take part in the event to join in the spirit of sharing. About 2,000 participants, including citizens and volunteers, are expected to attend.

The Busan Women’s Volunteer Advisory Committee, which is hosting the event, has organized the Red Cross Sharing Bazaar since 2015 to raise funds for local underprivileged residents. The committee has been actively engaged in various community-based volunteer activities, such as baking for charity and making “gifts of love.”

The event’s organizer, the Busan Chapter of the Korean Red Cross, continues to play a leading role in community service through disaster relief, welfare support, volunteer training, and other public initiatives that strengthen the region’s social safety net.

Park Seong-eun, Chairperson of the Busan Women’s Volunteer Advisory Committee, stated, “I hope this bazaar, made possible through citizens’ participation, will provide meaningful help to neighbors in need and spread the spirit of sharing throughout our community.”

Mayor Park Heong-joon is expected to remark, “The sharing and volunteerism of our citizens are the true strength of Busan. Together with our citizens, we will do our best to make Busan a warmer and more caring city.”
