Busan Metropolitan City to Operate “Donor Hall of Fame” in City Hall Lobby

Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) announced that it will hold the unveiling ceremony for the “Donor Hall of Fame” today (October 29) at 2 p.m. in the first-floor lobby of City Hall.

At the ceremony, around 30 participants are expected to attend, including Mayor Park Heong-joon, Lee Su-tae, Chairman of the Busan Community Chest, Yang Jae-saeng, Chairman of the Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and members of the Honor Society.

The ceremony will include a progress report on the establishment of the Donor Hall of Fame, the unveiling, a donation demonstration, and a commemorative photo session.

The Donor Hall of Fame was created to honor donors and promote a culture of giving in daily life. Installed on the first-floor wall of City Hall, it features a media wall measuring 6 meters in width and 3.1 meters in height, along with a donation kiosk.
The Hall of Fame honors high-value donors recognized by the Busan Community Chest, including members of the “Honor Society” and “Leading Donor Companies.” It provides information about donors and their giving philosophies, while also displaying promotional videos about municipal policies, media art, and other visual content in real time.

In particular, to encourage small-scale giving, the donation kiosk allows any visitor to City Hall to make donations easily and conveniently using credit cards, mobile payment methods, or the Dongbaekjeon local currency.
Users can also experience various interactive features such as taking a donation certification photo, checking their donation history, and sending donation relay messages to friends or acquaintances to invite participation.

Mayor Park Heong-joon stated, “The Donor Hall of Fame, newly established in City Hall today, commemorates those who have shared and dedicated themselves to our community. It also marks a new beginning in building a better community.
With the warm support and love of our citizens and companies, we will strive to make Busan a warm-hearted community where people would wish to live again through this Hall of Fame.”

Meanwhile, Busan is the second-leading city in the nation in terms of the number of high-value donors and is recognized as a “Leading City of Sharing.”
This year as well, citizens from all walks of life and local companies have actively practiced sharing for the benefit of the regional community.
Busan ranks second nationwide with 395 members in the “Honor Society” (high-value individual donors) and first in the number of new members in 2025, with 22 new additions.
Additionally, the city has 88 “Leading Donor Companies,” ranking second nationwide, with 12 new companies joining in 2025.
