Adjustment of Traffic Lanes on Gwangandaegyo Bridge (from Yongho-dong to Centum City) Following Completion of Ramp Bridge Installation (3 Lanes → 2 Lanes)

Busan Metropolitan City Construction Headquarters announced that, following the completion of ramp bridge installation for the Gwangandaegyo Connection Road Construction Project, traffic lanes on Gwangandaegyo Bridge (in the direction from Yongho-dong to Centum City) will be adjusted from three lanes to two lanes starting on October 30.

This adjustment is part of the Gwangandaegyo Connection Road Construction Project, which aims to alleviate traffic congestion in the Centum City area of Haeundae-gu. The current construction involves modifying the traffic lanes on Gwangandaegyo Bridge.

The purpose of this lane adjustment is to prevent potential collisions between vehicles descending from the newly completed ramp bridge and vehicles traveling straight on Gwangandaegyo Bridge (Yongho-dong → Centum City direction). Starting October 30, a safety zone will be installed to reduce the lanes from three to two.

The adjustment will begin approximately 1.2 kilometers before the entrance to the Centum City Underpass in the Yongho-dong → Centum City direction on Gwangandaegyo Bridge, where the safety zone will be established.

The Construction Headquarters plans to minimize public inconvenience from the lane reduction by actively promoting the change through traffic information boards and Busan Transportation Broadcasting (TBN).

Meanwhile, the Gwangandaegyo Connection Road Construction Project has reached 87 percent completion and is scheduled to be finalized (opened) by the end of 2025. Once completed, vehicles traveling from Olympic Junction and Jangsan in Haeundae-gu will be able to access the Centum City Underpass directly without detouring, which is expected to significantly ease traffic congestion in Centum City.

Kim Hyo-suk, Director General of the Construction Headquarters, stated, “This work is being carried out to ensure the safety of citizens traveling between the newly completed ramp bridge and Gwangandaegyo Bridge. We kindly ask for the public’s understanding regarding the lane adjustments.”
