A Romantic Autumn Night: The “Candlelight Busan Concert” Adds Charm to Busan’s Night Tourism

Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) and the Busan Tourism Organization (President Lee Jeong-sil) announced that the “Candlelight Busan Concert” will be held at 6 p.m. on October 25 at the Haryeia Lawn Plaza in Busan Citizens Park.

Now in its third year, this concert is one of the main programs of the “Starry Sea Busan Night Festa” and will feature a unique candlelight performance presented by Fever, a company specializing in staging candlelight concerts in extraordinary venues illuminated by thousands of candles.

This event is also part of a touring program across ten cities selected as specialized night tourism destinations through a public contest organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. The ten cities are Busan, Daejeon, Incheon, Gangneung, Gongju, Seongju, Yeosu, Jeonju, Jinju, and Tongyeong.

Fever is a Swedish company renowned for its candlelight concerts, which transform unconventional venues such as churches, cruise ships, and small theaters—sites of historical and cultural significance within cities—into stages bathed in candlelight. These performances blend traditional classical music with popular songs, film soundtracks, and jazz to offer a fresh and inspiring classical experience.

This year’s Busan concert will last approximately 65 minutes. The stage will be adorned with thousands of candles as the Lissus Quartet, consisting of violin, viola, and cello, performs about ten well-known pieces familiar to the public.

The program will include the original soundtracks from Joe Hisaishi’s Ghibli animations such as My Neighbor Totoro and Howl’s Moving Castle, as well as beloved classics by the late Kim Kwang-seok, evoking the mood of an autumn night that can be enjoyed by audiences of all ages.

After the performance, spectators can take photos against the backdrop of candlelight, and small souvenirs will be given on a first-come, first-served basis to those who complete the satisfaction survey.

This concert will feature the same program as Fever’s paid performances held around the world but will be offered to the public free of charge. Admission will be available on a first-come, first-served basis without advance reservation, and visitors are welcome to bring picnic mats and enjoy the concert freely.

The concert will also be broadcast live through the city’s official YouTube channel, BusanTube.

Meanwhile, the Starry Sea Busan Night Festa, Busan’s flagship night tourism brand, has been hosting a variety of nighttime attractions since May at venues including Haeundae, Gwangalli, Dadaepo Beaches, Yongdusan Park, and Hwamyeong Ecological Park, drawing great enthusiasm from domestic and international visitors.

Held in Busan Citizens Park—a beloved attraction where visitors can enjoy culture in harmony with nature—this autumn event is set to showcase the full romantic charm of Busan’s autumn nights.
