Busan Metropolitan City to Host “KORMARINE 2025 (International Maritime & Energy Exhibition)”

A Platform for Innovation in the Future Technologies of the Shipbuilding and Marine Industries

Busan Metropolitan City announced that it will host KORMARINE 2025 (International Maritime & Energy Exhibition) at BEXCO from October 21 (Tue) to 24 (Fri).
The opening ceremony will take place today (21st) at 10:30 a.m. in the lobby of BEXCO Exhibition Hall 2.

KORMARINE 2025 (International Maritime & Energy Exhibition) is a representative exhibition that demonstrates Busan’s status as a global hub of the shipbuilding and marine industries. It offers a comprehensive view of the latest developments in advanced equipment and technologies in the shipbuilding, marine, and energy sectors.

The event is co-hosted by Busan Metropolitan City, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the Korea Offshore & Shipbuilding Association, and the Korea Marine Equipment Association, and has been held biennially in odd-numbered years since 2001. This year marks its 13th edition.

The 2025 exhibition will feature about 1,000 companies from 40 countries, operating 2,100 booths, and is expected to attract around 30,000 visitors.
Participating domestic companies include HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, Samsung Heavy Industries, Hanwha Ocean, KCC, S&SYS, Taewoong, and Chugoku Samhwa Paints; while global participants include ABB, Schneider Electric, GE Vernova, Emerson, WING&D, and Rakuten Maritime.

In addition, 12 countries—including the Netherlands, Norway, Denmark, Germany, the United Kingdom, and China—will operate national pavilions to showcase their latest technologies.

This year’s highlight is the Next Energy themed pavilion in Exhibition Hall 2, newly introduced for 2025, where the three major Korean shipbuilders will jointly present exhibits under the theme of “Energy Innovation Technologies Leading the Shipbuilding and Marine Industries.”
Separate from each company’s large independent booth, this special space represents Korea’s technological leadership as a global shipbuilding powerhouse and will be featured exclusively at KORMARINE 2025.

HD Hyundai will showcase its Future Platform and AI Innovation Solutions; Samsung Heavy Industries will present energy technologies from its Cryogenic Product Research Center and Eco-Friendly Product Research Center; and Hanwha Ocean will display next-generation marine solutions such as ammonia gas turbines, wind-assisted propulsion systems (WAPS), and rotor sails.

During the exhibition, various side events will also take place, including the KORMARINE Conference, technical seminars, and Marine Engineering Society meetings, as well as export consultation sessions.
These events will share insights on the latest global trends in eco-friendly fuels, electrification, digital transformation (DX/AX), and autonomous vessels, and serve as a platform for collaboration among industry, academia, research, and government toward a sustainable future.
