Busan Metropolitan City Begins Distribution of Tickets for the Closing Ceremony of the 106th National Sports Festival Today (Oct. 20)

Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) announced that free tickets for the closing ceremony of the 106th National Sports Festival, to be held at Busan Asiad Main Stadium at 6 p.m. on October 23, will be distributed starting today (October 20) on a first-come, first-served basis.

Tickets can be obtained regardless of one’s registered address at any of the 16 district or county administrative welfare centers in Busan. Each person may receive up to two tickets. Only ticket holders will be admitted to the venue and allowed to view the ceremony on the day of the event.

The closing ceremony will be directed by General Director Park Kal-lin, who also produced the grand “ground show” featured at the opening ceremony. The event will deliver an emotional finale that celebrates the challenges and passion of the athletes who competed over the past seven days.

Under the theme “Taking Flight! Let’s Soar!”, the performance will depict a journey of soaring toward greater dreams and challenges along a symbolic runway. The official program will include the overall awards presentation, flame extinguishing, and other ceremonial segments.

The celebratory stage will feature popular trot singers Kim Hee-jae, Hong Ji-yoon, and Jin Hae-seong, who will elevate the festive atmosphere.

Singer Kim Hee-jae is recognized as a “complete trot idol,” known for his powerful vocals and dynamic performances. Hong Ji-yoon, a talented artist who placed second in Miss Trot 2, is praised as a gugak (traditional Korean music)-inspired trot diva with both depth and artistry. Jin Hae-seong, a native of Busan, will bring his signature deep voice and refined techniques to conclude the festival with heartfelt performances.

Meanwhile, Busan Metropolitan City began distributing opening ceremony tickets on September 30; however, due to overwhelming public interest, all tickets were fully claimed before the start of the festival.

“The closing ceremony of the 106th National Sports Festival will mark a successful conclusion to the event, encouraging all athletes and creating a festival of shared inspiration and celebration. We hope many citizens will join us and take part in this meaningful occasion.”
