Busan Metropolitan City and Good Neighbors Hold Donation Ceremony for “Girls’ Thought Kit” for Youth Preparing for Self-Reliance

Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) announced that on October 15 at 2:00 p.m., a donation ceremony was held at the Office of the Director General of the Women & Family Affairs Bureau with the participation of Good Neighbors Yeongnam Regional Headquarters (Director General An Jeong-ha), to deliver sponsored goods for young people preparing for self-reliance.*

* Youth preparing for self-reliance: individuals within five years of leaving childcare facilities (foster homes, group homes) or foster care.

This donation was organized to provide practical assistance to young women preparing for self-reliance who face difficulties in purchasing hygiene products.

The event was attended by the Director General of the Women & Family Affairs Bureau and An Jeong-ha, Director General of Good Neighbors Yeongnam Regional Headquarters.

At the ceremony, Good Neighbors Yeongnam Regional Headquarters delivered 50 boxes of “Girls’ Thought Kits” containing women’s hygiene and daily necessities. The kits will be distributed to 50 young women preparing for self-reliance.

Each “Girls’ Thought Kit” includes items beneficial to women’s health and hygiene such as nutritional supplements, organic sanitary pads, acne patches, and hot water bottles.

Park Seol-yeon, Director General of the Women & Family Affairs Bureau, stated, “We hope this support will help young people preparing for self-reliance to take better care of themselves and grow into healthy members of society. We will continue to make efforts to promote their stable and healthy independence.”
