Busan Meets Finance… “2025 Busan Finance Week” to Be Held

Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) announced that it will host the “2025 Busan Finance Week” event from October 17 (Fri) to 18 (Sat) at the BEXCO Convention Hall, offering opportunities for both citizens and businesses to engage with the financial sector.

The event is organized by the city and co-hosted by BEXCO, Koscom, the Korea Financial Investment Association, the Global Fintech Industry Promotion Center, and the Busan Finance Center. It will feature a rich program including 26 specialized financial seminars, financial education sessions, and the operation of a corporate zone.

This year’s event expands financial seminars and educational programs for citizens while strengthening programs related to startup creation, investment, and growth strategies. It will also operate a corporate zone designed to facilitate networking between financial institutions and businesses, and offer interactive programs where citizens can explore diverse business activities.

For Business-to-Consumer (B2C) seminars, sessions will cover topics such as real estate outlook, gold spot and futures investment, retirement preparation and pension management, perspectives on artificial intelligence (AI) and the digital economy transition, and key points to consider in asset management. These sessions will help citizens easily understand complex financial information through accessible explanations by experts.

For Business-to-Business (B2B) seminars, sessions will include practical training on startup establishment and investment, growth strategies, guidance on KOSDAQ and KONEX listing systems, and the initial public offering (IPO) process. These programs are designed to support the growth of startups and prospective startups through real-world case studies and practice-oriented education.

In addition to these, financial education and academic programs will be offered—such as voice phishing prevention in an era of increasingly sophisticated AI technologies, economic education for children, corporate analysis competitions, idea presentations on maritime finance policy development, and recruitment sessions with major financial public institutions and banks. These initiatives aim to raise interest in Busan’s finance and capital markets among the younger generation.

The event will run from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day (Oct. 17–18), and anyone interested in finance may participate free of charge.
The opening ceremony will include a “Busan Youth Symphony Orchestra Concert for Citizens.”
