Busan Transportation Corporation·Beautiful Store donate 50 million won to support low-income single-parent families

□ Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) announced that on the afternoon of the 13th (Mon) at 3 p.m., a donation ceremony was held in the International Protocol Room of City Hall with Busan Transportation Corporation and Beautiful Store to support low-income single-parent families.

○ The ceremony was attended by Vice Mayor for Administrative Affairs Lee Jun-seung, Busan Transportation Corporation President Lee Byung-jin, Beautiful Store Executive Director Jang Yun-kyung, and Beautiful Store Busan Headquarters Co-Representative Park Seong-hwan.

□ At the ceremony, Busan Transportation Corporation and Beautiful Store donated 50 million won raised through a joint fundraising campaign to support residential environment improvement projects for single-parent family welfare facilities.

□ The donation will be used through Beautiful Store to improve the vulnerable housing conditions of low-income single-parent families residing in single-parent welfare facilities.

○ Among the 32 households at Cheonghak Mother and Child Center, a single-parent family welfare facility in Yeongdo-gu, 16 severely deteriorated households will be prioritized for bathroom renovation and related improvements.

□ Since 2006, Busan Transportation Corporation has leased the Beautiful Store Myeongnyun Station branch, located within Myeongnyun Metro Station, free of charge as part of its social contribution program. Beautiful Store, together with Busan Transportation Corporation, has been carrying out various community activities such as donating part of its sales revenue to support vulnerable groups and contribute to local development.

○ The sharing activities jointly initiated by the two organizations in 2006 have continued in various fields, including emergency living support for low-income families, support for local children’s centers, and comprehensive social welfare centers.

□ Meanwhile, the City operates and supports single-parent family welfare facilities for low-income, housing-insecure single-parent families. Through these facilities, the City not only provides living spaces but also supports programs that help residents achieve self-reliance after leaving the facilities.

○ The facilities accommodate single-parent families without housing whose income level is below 100% of the median and who are raising children under the age of 18.

○ The City also promotes various self-reliance support programs, including providing settlement assistance to families leaving the facilities and connecting them to public rental housing offered by the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH).

□ Vice Mayor for Administrative Affairs Lee Jun-seung stated, “We expect that the donations from Busan Transportation Corporation and Beautiful Store will greatly help provide safe and comfortable housing environments for low-income single-parent families living with minor children in the facilities,” and added, “Busan Metropolitan City will continue strengthening its support so that single-parent families can live safely and prepare for independence by enhancing the welfare facilities.”
