Busan Metropolitan City to Host the 11th Forest Experience Festival – A Place for Communing with Nature

Busan Metropolitan City Mayor Park Heong-joon announced that the city will hold the 11th Forest Experience Festival from October 17 (Fri) to 18 (Sat).

The event, which will attract around 1,500 citizens, is a large-scale ecological experience program where children and families can explore forests and nature, fostering ecological sensitivity and environmental awareness. It will take place simultaneously at the Haeundae Arboretum and Hwamyeong Arboretum.

On the first day, October 17, children at Haeundae Arboretum will participate in an ecological exploration (ecoteering) program utilizing themed gardens*, enjoying the beauty of a healthy forest.

(*Themed gardens are exhibition areas created around specific topics such as seasons, plant species, or design themes within the arboretum.)

On the same day at Hwamyeong Arboretum, various forest experience programs will be held for children and citizens to learn the importance of nature, including Mole Hide-and-Seek, Making Insect Eyes, Pinecone Park Golf, and Arboretum Gardening activities.

A special program designed for families with children aged six and above will take place on October 18 at Hwamyeong Arboretum. This program will include an autumn forest interpretation walk, forest play, Finding the Colors of Fall, Fruit Classification, crafting souvenirs with forest materials, Starlight Walk & Tea Time, and a Small Forest Concert accompanied by the sounds of autumn insects.

Families will be able to enjoy quality time together, connect with nature, and create lasting memories through these experiences.

Any citizen interested can participate in the event by making a prior reservation through the city’s integrated reservation system on the official website (reserve.busan.go.kr). On-site registration will also be available on October 17.

Through this 11th Forest Experience Festival, Busan Metropolitan City expects citizens to experience the value of forests and nature firsthand, fostering engagement in building a healthy and sustainable green city.
