Busan Metropolitan City to Host “2025 Busan Garden Show” … Expanding a Garden Culture Where People · River · Migratory Birds Harmonize

From October 16 to 19, 2025, the Busan Garden Show will be held at the Busan Nakdong River Garden (Samnak Ecological Park). The event aims to promote a garden culture that connects nature, the city, and citizens as one.

Garden designers from Korea and abroad, citizen gardeners, and companies will collaborate to create creative and unique garden exhibitions. In addition, diverse hands-on programs and cultural performances will be presented, making the event a comprehensive festival.

Busan Metropolitan City expects the event to help foster the Nakdong River area as a tourist destination that integrates ecology and gardens, while also providing citizens with rest and recreational experiences that will contribute to revitalizing the local economy.

Busan Mayor Park Heong-joon announced that the 2025 Busan Garden Show will take place from October 16 (Thursday) to 19 (Sunday) at the Busan Nakdong River Garden (Samnak Ecological Park). This year’s event has been organized to expand a garden culture that links Busan’s nature, city, and its citizens together.

At this year’s Garden Show, creative garden exhibitions will be showcased through the participation of domestic and international garden artists, citizen gardeners, and corporations.

Various experiential programs will also be available, including The Great Palm Garden, where citizens can directly design and decorate gardens; Little Artists’ Painting Festival; Garden Yoga & Pilates; Samnak Wetland Kayak Exploration; and (E)-Orienteering, which applies IT-based orienteering techniques to provide children with outdoor activities that combine quizzes, missions, and environmental education.

In addition, a Garden Concert, Garden Theater, and Garden Talk Show will offer visitors a chance to enjoy culture and the arts while relaxing amid nature, forming a multifaceted festival that blends rest and emotional enrichment.

This year’s theme, Three Joys, One Garden, embodies three aspects of delight:
the joy of people—sharing happiness through communication and participation;
the joy of the river—the richness of the Nakdong River’s ecosystem and the serenity of its flowing waters;
and the joy of migratory birds—symbolizing life and freedom as they visit each season.

Through the Busan Garden Show, the city aims to transform the Nakdong River area into a tourism hub where ecology and gardens coexist, providing citizens with rest and educational opportunities while contributing to the local economy.

Furthermore, Busan Metropolitan City plans to use this event to establish a foundation for pursuing national garden designation and to strengthen the city’s brand value as a “Garden City.”
