Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) announced that it has developed a “Comprehensive Traffic Management Plan” to ensure safety and minimize inconvenience to residents ahead of the 2025 National Sports Festival and the National Para Games.

As road races such as marathons and triathlons will inevitably require temporary road closures, the city has been enhancing its public communication efforts to minimize inconvenience to citizens.

In particular, for visitors attending the Opening Ceremony of the 106th National Sports Festival on October 17, the city encourages the use of public transportation. Shuttle buses will operate from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. between paid public parking lots and the Busan Asiad Main Stadium to facilitate convenience for spectators.

Due to track and field events (marathon, half marathon, 10 km road race, and race walking), some city buses and airport limousine services may be suspended or delayed. In addition, buses passing through the National Maritime Museum area in Yeongdo-gu—where the triathlon events are scheduled—will be diverted.

Information about road closures and changes in public transportation will be announced in advance through various channels, including:

These measures aim to minimize inconvenience for citizens.

Shuttle buses will run along two routes from seven temporary (paid) parking lots to the Busan Asiad Main Stadium:

Temporary (Paid) Parking Lots:
KMPC Children’s Grand Park Parking Lot, Busan Municipal Library, Busan Student Education & Culture Center, Busan National University of Education, KMPC Gyo-dae No. 2 Parking Lot, Geoje Parking Lot, and KMPC Geoje J-Out Parking Lot.

• ●Route 1 (Choeup Direction): Busan Municipal Library → Children’s Grand Park → Busan Medical Center (Main Gate) → Samjeong Green Core Apartments → Asiad Main Stadium.

• ●Route 2 (Geoje-daero Direction): Geoje Station → Busan District Court and Prosecutors’ Office → Gyo-dae Station → Asiad Main Stadium.

Banners and information signs will be installed at each shuttle stop, and information leaflets—including opening ceremony tickets and promotional materials for the National Sports Festival—are being distributed to the public.

Through this “Comprehensive Traffic Management Plan,” Busan Metropolitan City expects to provide a convenient and safe transportation environment for visiting athletes and local citizens alike.
