Busan Metropolitan City Promotes the 2025 World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) World Conference at the “Moonlight Workout Busan Challenge”

Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) announced that, together with the Korea Anti-Doping Agency (KADA), it will conduct promotional activities for the 2025 WADA World Conference at the “Moonlight Workout Busan Challenge,” which will take place at 2 p.m. on October 11 at Dasom Square in Busan Citizens Park.

This initiative aims to share the values of fair and clean sports through a citizen-centered sports-for-all program and to raise public awareness of the upcoming conference.

Former national mogul ski athlete and KADA Athletes’ Committee member Seo Jeong-hwa will attend the event to wish for the success of the WADA World Conference and will participate in the sports-for-all program alongside citizens. The program will be led by well-known fitness influencers Cho Jin-hyung and Lee Jin-i.

At the sixth session of the “Moonlight Workout Busan Challenge,” to be held on October 11, the event will feature popular sports influencer-led programs such as “Moonlight Muscle Zone” and “Running Training.”

Within the event venue, a promotional booth for the WADA World Conference will be set up, offering various programs to help citizens better understand anti-doping efforts and the importance of fair play in sports.
At the booth, visitors can take part in anti-doping quizzes and virtual reality (VR) experiences to learn easily and engagingly about the significance of doping prevention. Promotional leaflets containing conference information will also be distributed, and attendees can take commemorative Polaroid photos with KADA’s mascot “TonTon.”
In addition, LED screens at the venue will display promotional videos to widely publicize the meaning and importance of the conference.

The 2025 WADA World Conference, the first ever to be held in Asia, will take place in Busan from December 1 to 5, 2025, at BEXCO.
The conference will bring together over 1,000 participants, including athletes, international and national sports organizations, and government representatives from around the world. They will make key decisions regarding revisions to the World Anti-Doping Code and related international standards that will apply to all sports from 2027 to 2032.

KADA Secretary General Kim Il-hwan stated, “This conference, to be held in Busan as the first in Asia, is a very important event that will determine the future framework and international standards of anti-doping regulations for the next six years. We hope to share the value of fair play with Busan citizens and deliver the message of doping prevention in a fun and engaging way through on-site VR experiences and quizzes.”

Director of the Busan Metropolitan City Sports Bureau Son Tae-wook said, “This event will be a meaningful opportunity to share the values of fair play with citizens and foster enthusiasm for the successful hosting of the conference. We will make every effort to prepare for the upcoming 2025 WADA World Conference and showcase Busan’s capacity as a global sports hub city to the world.”
