A Fall Journey Along Flower Paths — Enjoy Autumn at the Nakdonggang River Ecological Parks

Busan Metropolitan City’s Busan Nakdong River Project Management Office (hereinafter referred to as “the Office”) announced that it has created a variety of autumn floral displays across the ecological parks, offering citizens and visitors diverse and delightful attractions for the season.

Since May, the Office has been sowing various autumn flower species, enabling visitors to appreciate a wide range of blooms—including yellow cosmos, kochia, buckwheat flowers, and pink muhly—throughout the three major ecological parks.

At Hwamyeong Ecological Park, visitors walking along the Gamdong Narutgil trail from Gupo Station on Busan Metro Line 3 will encounter a splendid field of yellow cosmos near the lotus pond area. Especially near the Folk Game Yard, a newly created kochia field turns a vivid red in mid-October, forming one of the largest kochia landscapes in Busan and offering citizens a rare and colorful autumn view.

At Samnak Ecological Park, the themed garden inside the family park is planted with various seasonal flowers, showcasing the changing charm of the park throughout the year. In particular, the buckwheat field near the migratory bird feeding area creates a spectacular sight with its sea of white blossoms. This buckwheat field not only enhances the scenery but also serves an ecological role by providing a rich feeding ground for migratory birds—harmonizing landscape beauty and ecological preservation.

At Daejeo Ecological Park, vast pink muhly fields spread out near parking lot No. 2, glowing with a soft pink hue under the autumn sunlight. Blending naturally with the nearby bamboo forest trail, this spot has become a popular photo location for families and couples alike.

Kim Gyeong-hee, Director General of the Busan Nakdong River Project Management Office, stated, “We hope the Nakdonggang River Ecological Parks, now imbued with the colors of autumn, will serve as a peaceful retreat in nature for citizens to enjoy a moment of relaxation within the city.”
