Busan Metropolitan City Holds Pep Rally for Athletes of the 45th National Para Games – Strengthening the Will to Win

Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) announced that today (30th) at 5 p.m. in the City Hall Auditorium, it will hold a pep rally for the Busan delegation participating in the 45th National Para Games.

Overview of the 45th National Para Games

• ●Period: October 31 (Fri) – November 5 (Wed), 2025 (6 days)

• ●Venues: Busan Asiad Main Stadium and 38 other venues

• ●Scale: 31 events, approximately 9,729 participants (6,101 athletes, 3,628 officials)
  ※ Busan delegation: 30 events, 621 participants (486 athletes, 135 officials)

This pep rally has been prepared to strengthen the resolve of the Busan delegation participating in the 45th National Para Games, which will be held in Busan from October 31 to November 5.

The event will be attended by Mayor Park Heong-joon, Vice Chairperson Lee Jong-hwan of the City Council, leaders from the para sports community, athletes, and officials, with more than 700 participants gathering to affirm their determination to win. It will also serve as an opportunity to deliver Busan citizens’ passionate support and encouragement to athletes, coaches, and their families.

The program of the rally includes a progress report on preparations for the Games, a video presentation of team training, presentation of the team flag, athletes’ oath, encouragement messages, and pledges of determination.

The athletes’ oath will be taken by Kim Dae-jung (canoe, Korens EM Co., Ltd.) and Lee Jae-yi (swimming, Busan Para Sports Association professional team).

Side events will also take place in the lobby of the Auditorium, including a commemorative photo zone, experience booths (Schulene, Hangung), and promotional video exhibitions.

Busan Metropolitan City has been making thorough preparations for the successful hosting of the 45th National Para Games, which will be held at 38 venues including the Busan Asiad Main Stadium, from October 31 to November 5. The Games will feature competitions in 31 official sports.

In February 2024, the City established the National Para Games Planning Team and launched an Organizing Committee composed of about 140 representatives from civic organizations, political and business sectors, and media, to ensure the Games are prepared successfully.

Mayor Park Heong-joon stated, “I hope that our delegation, the pride of Busan, will participate in this Games with strength, perseverance, and dignity, and achieve excellent results. We will do our utmost to make the 45th National Para Games, held in Busan, a milestone in making Busan a ‘city of sports paradise.’”
