Busan Metropolitan City Holds the “Integrity and Safety Resolution Rally” with Public Construction Site Stakeholders Under the Slogan “Integrity Ensures Safety!”

Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) announced that on the afternoon of September 24, it held the “Integrity and Safety Resolution Rally” with approximately 140 stakeholders from 51 public construction sites at the International Conference Hall of City Hall.

This event was organized to embody Mayor Park Heong-joon’s determination to realize “Busan as a City of Integrity and Safety” and featured the delivery of integrity letters, an integrity pledge performance, integrity and safety education, and communication time with field stakeholders.

In celebration of the Chuseok holiday, integrity letters expressing the Mayor’s commitment to integrity were delivered to all field stakeholders.

Subsequently, the Mayor and representatives of public construction sites jointly shouted the slogan “Integrity City! Safe Busan!” during the integrity pledge performance, reaffirming their commitment to integrity and safety.

The integrity and safety education session was conducted by Choi Kyung-seok, a certified instructor registered with the Anti-Corruption & Civil Rights Commission’s Integrity Training Institute. Mr. Choi previously served as a branch head of the Korea Expressway Corporation and as a professor at the Korea Expressway Corporation Human Resources Development Center, specializing in integrity and safety education.

The event concluded with a communication session with field stakeholders to share practical measures for implementing integrity and safety in administration.

This year, Busan Metropolitan City selected safety (construction and facility management) as a priority area for improvement in the comprehensive integrity evaluation conducted by the Anti-Corruption & Civil Rights Commission and has been promoting improvement tasks under the theme “Integrity Ensures Safety.”

Through this event, stakeholders responsible for public construction projects (supervisory directors and site managers), officials from the Construction Headquarters, and the Mayor gathered in one place to foster communication and consensus. This gathering served as a platform to secure citizen safety and form a shared commitment to integrity and safety aimed at improving construction quality.

Furthermore, Busan Metropolitan City is making efforts to enhance employee satisfaction with training and to internalize integrity by implementing customized education programs such as:

• ●Hosting a special integrity lecture by the Chairperson of the Anti-Corruption & Civil Rights Commission (April 2025),

• ●Providing mobile anti-corruption and integrity consulting led by internal instructors (including the Director General of Audit Committee and the Integrity Officer) from April to October 2025,

• ●Conducting “Integrity Live,” a performance-based integrity training program by the Integrity Training Institute (September 2025), and

• ●Offering integrity and safety education in the safety sector (construction and facility management).

Mayor Park remarked, “This event served as an opportunity to reaffirm our determination for integrity and safety in the construction sector and to remind us once again of its importance through integrity and safety education. We will continue to build a city where citizens are safe and happy based on the principles of fairness and transparency.”
