Plants Convey Comfort, Healing Agriculture Reaches Closer to Citizens

Busan Metropolitan City Agricultural Technology Center (hereinafter referred to as the Center) announced that it will operate the “Visiting Healing Agriculture Public Lecture” until October, targeting residents of four districts: Sasang-gu, Busanjin-gu, Yeonje-gu, and Buk-gu.

This lecture, designed to provide psychological stability and emotional comfort to citizens weary of urban life through interaction with plants, will be run as a customized program in cooperation with each district office.

  ① Sasang-gu: September 26, 2025 (Fri), 14:00–16:00, Mora Community Welfare Center
  ② Yeonje-gu: October 22, 2025 (Wed), 14:00–16:00, Geoje Lifelong Learning Center
  ③ Buk-gu: October 23, 2025 (Thu), 15:00–17:00, Buk-gu Office Auditorium
  ④ Busanjin-gu: October 27, 2025 (Fri), 10:00–12:00, Busanjin-gu Office “Dabok” Hall

This program will be conducted for a total of 320 citizens and consists of both theoretical education on healing agriculture and hands-on practice, making participation easy and enjoyable.

To ensure the program provides real benefits for citizens’ psychological and social healing, professional instructors will lead the sessions, and accessible venues such as welfare centers and district office conference rooms have been prepared to lower participation barriers.

The lecture will cover both theoretical and practical aspects, including:

• ●The concept and effects of healing agriculture

• ●Care methods for air-purifying plants and indoor plants

• ●Practical activities such as creating wall-mounted plants (hanging plants) and producing personalized healing flowerpots

The main participants of the program are users of welfare facilities in the four districts of Sasang-gu, Yeonje-gu, Buk-gu, and Busanjin-gu. For detailed information, inquiries can be made to the relevant district offices.

The Center aims to strengthen the role of healing agriculture as a hub within the community through this lecture, to establish a sustainable cooperative system with each district office, and to expand the foundation so that healing agriculture becomes embedded in citizens’ daily lives in the long term.

Yu Mi-bok, Director of the Agricultural Technology Center, stated, “This Visiting Healing Agriculture Public Lecture has been prepared to provide citizens with psychological relaxation and stability amid their busy urban lives,” and added, “We will continue to develop and expand various local cooperation models to ensure that healing agriculture takes root in citizens’ everyday lives.”
