Busan Metropolitan City and Local Public Institutions Pledge to Build a “Clean and Safe Busan”

Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) announced that on the morning of September 23 at 10:50, at the Asiad Main Stadium, Mayor Park and the heads of 30 local public institutions carried out a performance pledging their commitment to integrity and safety.

The event was organized to publicly demonstrate the commitment of these leaders to practicing integrity and safety, coinciding with Mayor Park’s inspection of the preparations for the upcoming National Para Games. Commissioner Kim Su-hwan of the Busan Metropolitan Police Agency, district mayors, county heads, and other public institution leaders participated in the performance.

During the performance, all the participants held placards and chanted together the slogan “Clean City! Safe Busan!” to express their unified determination to build a clean and safe city.

The City has selected construction and facility management in the safety sector as corruption-prone areas requiring focused improvement in the comprehensive integrity assessment, and is promoting measures under the theme “Integrity Ensures Safety.”

Meanwhile, on the same day (September 23), the City also held a “Morning Integrity Practice Campaign” in the first-floor lobby of City Hall from 7:50 to 8:50 a.m., targeting all employees.

The campaign was joined by Vice Mayor for Administrative Affairs Lee Jun-seung, Director General of Audit Committee Yoon Hee-won, members of the integrity club “Integrity Seagull,” and more than 50 staff from the Integrity Office.

At the event, participants pledged to eradicate corruption in the safety sector to realize a clean and safe Busan, reinforced workplace discipline, and actively promoted both internal and external anonymous reporting channels such as the whistleblowing hotline “Integrity Voice.”

The City has set the goal of achieving a Grade 1 rating in the national comprehensive integrity assessment this year. To that end, it has identified construction and facility management in the safety sector as key areas for improvement and is advancing a clean municipal administration under the theme “Integrity Ensures Safety.”

Mayor Park Heong-joon stated, “The Fair Play spirit, which is most valued in sports, is deeply linked to integrity. By prioritizing integrity and safety, we will ensure thorough preparations for a successful National Sports Festival.”
