1st Busan Youth Guidance Counselor Conference “Connecting the Future” Held

Busan Metropolitan City Mayor Park Heong-joon announced today (September 24) at 10:00 a.m. at the Grand Moment Youth Hostel that the “1st Busan Youth Guidance Counselor Conference” would be held.

This year marks the first time such a conference has been organized to enhance the expertise of Busan’s youth guidance counselors, expand networks, and encourage morale. The date, September 24, was chosen to symbolize youth aged 9 to 24.

The conference is hosted by the Busan Youth Guidance Counselors Association, chaired by Kim Kyung-jin, and co-organized by the Busan Youth Guidance Counselors Association and Park Su-young, CEO of the Grand Moment Youth Hostel. Around 100 representatives and employees from youth training facilities in Busan are expected to attend.

A “youth guidance counselor” refers to a qualified professional holding a nationally accredited Youth Guidance Counselor certification, serving as a reliable partner who helps young people nurture their dreams and grow into healthy members of society.

At this conference, practicing counselors will share their experiences and strengthen cooperation and networking among one another.

The conference, held under the theme “Connecting the Future,” conveys a message of solidarity and cooperation among youth, citizens, and the local community. It will feature the sharing of youth policy directions and case studies from the field, along with special lectures and workshops to strengthen the professionalism of youth guidance counselors.

In particular, the role of youth guidance counselors will be highlighted not only as instructors but also as key social professionals who help shape the lives and futures of young people.

Park Seol-yeon, Director General of the Women and Family Bureau of Busan Metropolitan City, stated, “Youth are the future and hope for all of us. Through this conference, we hope to widely recognize the dedication of youth guidance counselors and foster an atmosphere in which citizens join in supporting them.”
